  1. Ah, so THAT'S what it took for them to jump ship. Never mind the mocking of the disabled, the admission of sexual assault, the endless criminality, etc., etc.
  2. Really!!?? I thought that with the huge numbers who were mocking it, including his apologists and die hards, it would be one big flop. Wowza!
  3. Wouldn't have predicted that one right. I'd forgotten that Jack Wagner transferred from UNI to NC. I'd guess going down to 125 isn't easy for him.
  4. Yes. Most of which are of the weekend, variety type as well.
  5. Legislators all across the country who are prohibiting educators from discussing the "isms" and sexuality issues in classes are doing far more harm to educational free speech than anything that educators could ever dream of doing.
  6. I'm a Nader fan, but was troubled by the person with whom he was on the panel with, Charles Murray.
  7. On somewhat of a related note, we had a presenter once say to us at work how effectively Harley Davidson is able to sell its brand. People wear their shirts, hats, and even get the brand tatooed on themselves. He then said, picture people walking around with "Walmart" tattoos on their arms. Amazing thought.
  8. I'm not a professor by title, but it's not used at our school, and I've seen several who weren't fluent in English. That's why I've never heard of it.
  9. Don't have it on our cable TV, which is all that I was checking.
  10. Must be just a regional thing. Not showing here in Ioway.
  11. It's the 25-30 percent of the electorate that votes exclusively Republican, which is true. You'll notice that the number will reveal itself time and time again in polling data as well. There's ALWAYS that outlying 25-30% in polling data that represents that population.
  12. The second one, once again, is baffling. Just as the 30 percenters opposed actually having an agency in gubment to ensure that the information that we were/are receiving is true, they continue to show that they enjoy being lied to and misinformed. As "presidential" advisor HUD McVeigh Hannity says, you can't make this up.
  13. Thanks. Have to say, that's a new one for me.
  14. I've just never heard of a requirement for colleges that people have to be able to speak English to be eligible. I could name 4,054 people who've gone to U.S. colleges, sports and otherwise, who were not fluent in English. STILL must be missing something.
  15. I meant the exclusion because of his not being fluent in English. Still think I'm missing something.
  16. Not sure if that or the Deuce Rambo flags are weirder.
  17. Huh? I'm obviously missing something.
  18. No single song to offer for now, but If the first time I've ever heard this was tonight I wouldn't believe that such an album could be possible. It's such a masterpiece.
  19. I remember you talking about playing even years ago when I could still post on The Open (Closed) Mat, but how long have you played guitar?
  20. And, take it from me: location and how their teams are doing doesn't make a derned bit of difference; they'll be there in droves in black and gold. You can watch a Sqwawker team play a local Timbuktu (sp?) team in Africa and when something big for the Sqwawkers happens ( or their rassler is winning and the "stalling" screams begin) you've got a roar. Local team has something good happen , it sounds like a golf gallery.
  21. I'll even bet that those two are two shows behind The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac in "farewell" tours.
  22. Being an Iowan myself, I would not have thought that. However, that relates to the initial question how?
  23. I agree that his playing was outstanding, especially his slide work. I just like the "country" sound of his guitar tone.
  24. LOL! My favorite studio album of theirs.
  25. Don't think of it as anything more than a soap opera and you won't be misled into thinking it's real.
