  1. I also remember a lot of complaints on BWI about Nick Lee shooting too much freshman and sophmore year.
  2. There was a guy on BWI who used to track this stuff. I think he went by LemonPie. Not sure if it was just PSU wrestlers or more extensive. Also not sure if he still does it.
  3. Come on Iowa fans. Where are those homer picks? So far, we have 23 predictions and only 5 are for Iowa to win. The average predicted final score is PSU 19.8 - Iowa 14.5. Though this board pretty much matches the HR view. Their nine predictions have PSU winning by an average score of 19.3 - 14.6 with only two of them picking their own team. There is a single brave soul so far who has taken Iowa to win more matches than PSU....on the two boards combined. For completeness the two PSU boards have it 22.3 - 13.3 with no one favoring Iowa.
  4. Nolf was 2 at the time so it was probably for the best. Sorry, I could not resist.
  5. It is booked, danno. And I cannot ever recall Sanderson starting at any other weight than 125.
  6. I will be damned if I let you or anyone else bad mouth the pinfall.
  7. My issue is it doesn't match with how wrestling does it in other years. For 91 seasons that ended with a tournament there were 8 All-Americans. For one season without a tournament having 12 or 16 seems aggressive. And you are correct in that Sanderson's total is unaffected as he had five wrestlers in the top 5 (along with a 19 and a 21 seed). But even giving Sanderson credit for 5 is moderately aggressive as the expected total given seeds is 4.4 (only 40% chance of 5). We would need to invoke the "PSU always outperforms" clause, I think. BTW, care to make a prediction in Iowa v PSU? You seem like a prognosticator.
  8. Based on seeds (3, 22, 14, 5, 11, 4, 12, 9, 14) and the probability a given seed finishes as an AA I would expect Oklahoma State would have 3.3 AA's if the 2020 tournament was wrestled (30% probability of 4 / 70% probability of 3). So eight seems aggressive.
  9. The difference is in 2020. Oklahoma State gives him credit for 8 All-Americans, I only give him credit for the three wrestlers who were First Team All-Americans. The 150 total includes 3 wrestlers who were Second Team All-American (seeded 9 - 12) and 2 wrestlers who were Honorable Mention All-American (seeded 13 - 16) from that 2020 season.
  10. I wont speak for all of Hawkeye wrestlenation, but of the 27 in season predictions I have collected so far the only person predicting anything less than a pinfall for Lee over Steen is on HR.
  11. I have predictions from @flyingcement, MSU158 (no longer here?), @Barracuda141, @nhs67, @VakAttack, @Le duke from prior to the start of the season, and @Jimmy Cinnabon, @nhs67, @Mr. PeanutButter, @Le duke, @Wrestleknownothing, @Jimmy Cinnabon (again), @VakAttack, and @Perry from the last few days. Anyone else want to get in on the action?
  12. But you picked Haines to win. Talk about hedging/ridiculousness. All you need to be right is to predict all possible outcomes.
  13. Lee by pinfall RBY by major Woods by decision Van Ness by decision Haines by decision (or Seibrecht by decision if Barraclough wrestles) Facundo by decision Starocci by major Brooks by major Dean by decision Kerkvliet by decision 27-9 PSU (or 24 - 12 if Barraclough wrestles)
  14. That is odd. The first quote is from @SocraTease not me. As for Steen next week, I have already said my prayers for his personal safety. After watching him wrestle twice I will say he is game, but boy does he lack horsepower. I have seen him get to a leg, but just not be able to get close to pulling it in. As a matter of fact, he repeatedly gave up points when he was in a much better position to score. Lacking horsepower against Spencer Lee is not an enviable position to be in. As a PSU fan, I feel Spencer Lee is appointment viewing because he is just so dominant and there are only two months left in his college career. As for Woods v Bartlett. Woods loves the two on one almost as much as Austin DeSanto loved getting to RBY's arm. I will be interested to see what, if any, tactics the PSU staff comes up with to counter that move. I do feel Woods is the better wrestler, but PSU wrestlers are better coached. One of my take aways from today's dual is that Iowa wrestlers do not have high wrestling IQs.
  15. @flyingcement guaranteed he would win last year. He is no longer guaranteeing. Regression.
  16. I am loudly in that camp. If we didn't have him we would have to invent him. Now that in no way stops me from busting his chops.
