  1. You have confused the why with the what. The what is makes shit up. The why is the stuff you said. Doesn't change the what. I laughed at you when you said they do not fabricate information entirely, and then quoted the exact same thing I did, and highlighted the same part I did, that said the opposite of what you said just a few sentences earlier.
  2. unfortunately I do not have the data to answer this question. But, the good news is @cowcards does.
  3. The 6 lowest seeds to win in the 33 seed era (2019 - 2024):
  4. Holy shit. My heart is pounding from watching the 1500. Bobby Freakin Finke wire to wire (the complete opposite of his normal strategy) absolutely blitzes and burns out the field. New world record in the process. Wow. Wow. Wow.
  5. I personally know three accomplished wrestlers who trained in gymnastics in their youth as a part of their wrestling training. The spacial awareness, body control, and strength developed in gymnastics is invaluable to wrestling.
  6. From Google's description of hallucinations: "An example of this would be an AI model designed to generate summaries of news articles may produce a summary that includes details not present in the original article, or even fabricates information entirely." Hmmm, sounds like makes shit up to me.
  7. Did you do 170 sympathy miles today?
  8. I did a lot of work on fractions when I swam 1500. I am 1/2 done. Now I am 751/1500ths done...
  9. More swimming is better swimming. You are catching me at a very melancholy time. No heats in the morning. Only finals in the afternoon. Sure, I get the 1500 final. And what then? How will I make it four more years?
  10. Need has nothing to do with it.
  11. I am pretty sure I can back into it, but away from my computer for the weekend. I will try to answer both questions when I get back. Maybe tomorrow evening, or Monday.
  12. So what fact do you have? It is a fact that a single person made a claim that something was true while also providing zero of that thing you pretend to know, evidence, that his claim is true. It is not a fact that his claim is true. You, however, want to belive his claim so bad that you are willing to ignore any other facts, like the organization he heads is so corrupt that another highly corrupted organization found their level of corruption to be a bridge too far.
  13. I chuckle every time you use the word evidence incorrectly.
  14. It is wild that Phelps is the greatest of all time even though he is not even the fastest of all time.
  15. Boy, I spew a lot of shit in a lot of places. It is hard for me to keep up with what and where. But I imagine it was my typical screed against the ranking events being used as the seeding criteria, making showing up all that matters. But the hypocrisy is that the people in charge of UWW only really care about having tournaments in their home countries. So they are often in a single time zone. That time zone makes it impractical for anyone traveling west to east (anyone in the western hemisphere) to attend once, never mind three or four times. The net result is that seeding is a joke. Combine that with the random draw for the majority and seeding is also meaningless. Now, while we are off topic, want to talk swimming? I have some thoughts on the 1500 heats.
  16. Never heard of hallucinations, I see. It is the cute name AI people have coined for "makes shit up".
  17. Third greatest day of the Olympics today. Breakfast with men's 1500 heats. My happy place.
  18. And to clown things up even further, the IBA announced they are giving the Italian boxer a bonus of $50k. So you get nothing for winning, $50k for quitting. They must owe me $100k for not even trying.
  19. My only counterpoint is if they wanted to have wrestler be more active at ranking series events, they would spread them around instead of having several in eastern Europe. What I think they actually want is to have them in their home country along with a rule that encourages attendance.
  20. Came across this: https://www.mmafighting.com/2024/8/1/24210841/olympic-gold-medalist-david-taylor-explains-decision-retire-competition-after-missing-out-2024-games From the article: “I’ve always said I would compete as long as I had the fire,” Taylor told MMA Fighting. “This year, that fire started to just kind of go away. I’ve achieved everything I wanted to achieve in my career. You start off and you want to be a good wrestler, then you set your goals — and I had the highest goal of being an Olympic gold medalist. Being a national champion, being a world champion, being an Olympic gold medalist, it’s hard to continue to recreate that fire every single year. I was 33 years old. I had achieved everything I wanted to achieve. I got a young family, so this year was a challenge to find that fire everyday.”
  21. We have VERY different definitions of evidence.
