At one point of the year you could say PSU had a high high probability at 4 champs. Now I'd say the over under is 1.5.
These are terrible odds. PSU has 5 guys ranked #1. Lets say Starocci has to forfeit out you'd still set the over under at 2.5

Yes Michael Beard. And, why are they not dark horses?
I'm honestly not trying to come off as arrogant but I really don't think this needs to be explained

Might top those but not Branch.
Never said it did

If the tournament was seeded today the lowest seed with the highest potential would be Richard Figueroa.

Dark Horse HOF
Wyatt "Chip and a Chair" Sheets - After an injury riddled season, comes in as the 33 seed at 157 in 2021 only after another wrestler had to withdraw (he was essentially the 34 seed), and takes 8th for a 25 slot improvement.
Yahya "Yeah Yeah" Thomas - Also in 2021, Thomas entered 149 as the 25 seed after a shaky B1G tournie, only to catch a heater and finish 3rd for a 22 slot jump.
Killian "So Nice I Will Do It Twice" Cardinale - There was something in the water in 2021. Cardinale entered that tournament as the 17 seed, but rallied to finish 7th at 125. Then, 2023 Cardinale told 2021 Cardinale to hold his beer. After having to take a med forfeit and an inj default at the ACC tournie, he snuck in as the 28 seed, before making the podium in 8th place.
Great list but 2015 Zeke Moisey tops all of these

There can't be two true seconds, I demand an extra match.
fly is everyone's true first but who claimed him first?
Id imagine it would be his very own momma, Mrs. Flutter Cement

If the guy who won the third place match lost in the semi to the guy who lost in the final, then we have true 2 and 3.
If the guy who won the third place match lost to the eventually champ in the semi, then we do not have true 2 or 3.
So, call it true second or true third. Its the same thing.
We always have true 4 and 1.
9 hours ago, ionel said:Nope ... sometimes we do have true 2nd (first case) but sometimes need to wrestle 2nd vs 3rd to get true 2nd (second case).
Did I mention we don't have true 6th?
You two are my true seconds.
8 hours ago, flyingcement said:The term "true" implies he is no greater nor worse than the placing he earned. If he is at least third, that's not the same as true third (IMHO)
But he's my true first

Don't see that happening. Ramirez won't get #2 with his loss to Olejnik and getting majored by KOT in the dual. And no offense to MM, he's been very impressive, but he's only wrestled 1 top ten guy this season (so far). I don't see that getting him over Carr, and leaving Carr and KOT at 2 and 3. If Carr beats KOT at Big 12's, I see it 1.Carr, 2.MM, 3.KOT, 4.Ramirez.
Mesenbrink has 3 wins over top 10 guys in Flo Rankings Caliendo, Fish & Taylor or Intermat Caliendo, Fish & Amine. He also has a victory over another top 15 guy in both rankings Bryce Hepner. Ramirez also has the head to head over Carr. In the scenario where MM wins Big 10 and Carr wins Big 12 it's very plausible it goes #1 MM, #2 Ramirez, #3 Carr, #4 KOT.

Ouch. If he's going to jump levels like that then I'm shocked. You'd think Cael would get him some lower level drilling competitions like the Marcellus Shale Natural Gas Open

Haines likely confined to the drilling basement after B10s.
Quite possible. But in what style? Hand, cordless, hammer, impact, or auger?

I think Ryder Rogotzke is going to ruin a higher seeds dream this year or at a minimum give someones fanbase a near heart attack.

I agree the committee is allowed to move someone within one seed of what the formula spits out so I was saying I could see them moving carr to 1 and MM to 2 to avoid a Carr vs Keegan semi. Not entirely sure I would agree with that, but I think its possible.
In this scenario. I think they'd go MM #1, Ramirez #2, Carr #3, KOT #4. They Could justify it

This is a great write up but just one glaring hole. #16 seed Meyer Shapiro takes out Levi Haines Thursday night in the round of 16.

Who do you think beats Zerban?
I'd favor Chittum, Mauller, & Teague over Zerban. Jared Hill & Cael Swensen are a toss ups

I'm not sure he can jump Jacori/Zerban assuming they win conferences and I don't know if blockhus takes second at big10's if he will pass him or potentially franek taking second, I should have said 4/5 although that seeding is rather immaterial.
Meyer will jump every non conference champ. And I highly doubt Zerban wins the Big 12s. His schedule has been a cake walk

Well levi 1. Shaprio 8?
15 minutes ago, Truzzcat said:assuming meyer wins EIWA's (he should) I would imagine he slots in somewhere around 5-6 he has really good wins and if he does not win EIWA's hes just not beating levi.
A) Meyer will win EIWA. No one is beating him B) He'll be seeded in the top 4 as a conference champ with wins over Mauller, Scott, Andonian, & Swisher

I feel a little impacted by watching Ramos get fourth at CKLV. He didn't seem to have enough separation over the pack. Whereas Ayala has one excellent skill that although its intangible, he has proven to possess it: he's clutch and timely
Except when he faced Ramos?

OSU sure didn't look like worldbeaters as they have the past few duals. Is Iowa in their heads?
Okie State is young. (4) Freshman and (1) Sophomore in their starting lineup. Youth could've played a factor in a few matches. As for Olejnik, I think Caliendo is forever in his head

I am also coming around on the idea of Ayala being a nose ahead of the pack right now.
Ahead of Matt Ramos?

One poster listed him. Let's all calm down. No one else thinks he's a dark horse
edit... ok I saw two posters mention him. Now I'm worried of an impending apocalypse. @Hammerlock3 do your thing. Argue these two posters into oblivion. It's our only chance for survival
