  2. The term battleball just sounds better.....we had variations too for the game...one of them was awesome, but to complex too describe here.
  3. In my physical education classes we called it Battleball....had several variations....kids loved Battleball, but it was only played occasionally...example in the Fall when we were outside, but it was raining....just sayin'
  4. I figured that...... he has two bronze (a World and Olympic)....he counts...lol
  5. I count 15 different guys.....Davis, Darkus, Weaver, McFarland, Metzger, Carr, Monday, Martinez, D. Schultz, M. Schultz, Ed Banach, Jim Scherr, Bill Scherr, Baumgartner and Lou Banach.
  6. A lot of World and Olympic Champions and Medalists here.
  7. Here's a year, just for starters....
  8. I just mean which year had the toughest 10 wt. classes....some wt's. may be great 1-8, some may be great only 1-4....but the most great weight classes.
  9. Looking at all 10 wt. classes, depth of field, 1-8, 1-6, top 4. Thoughts on toughest Championship of all time.
  10. "Nothing but the facts"...oh I think that was Dragnet, not Get Smart.
  11. I was sent to the hall once....history/8th grade, Mr. Folger....great teacher....I was innocent that day, but had been guilty before, so I didn't argue just went to the hall. Then I got in trouble with Mrs. Starr (student council advisor/8th grade) who saw me in the hall. I also got paddled once by my math teacher Mr. Grau....that was the last time I was ever in trouble.
  12. I was in the fifth grade...Mrs. Peterson...Horace Mann Elementary
  13. Not Hawaii/Maui thank goodness, but I was in elementary school when Hawaii and Alaska were added to the Union..... this is classic....
  14. Great tournament. One of the first one's, I saw Eric Guerrero (Independance H.S./California wrestle...ultimately a 3 time NCAA Champion.
  15. No, but I've visited the area! Including to watch the Ironman.
  16. No argument there....great teams at that time!
  17. I'm guessing your nephew's initials are CM then, and I have a great story there, but it would help to give me away....lol Fadz
  18. The Brakeman reports were always a great read and wealth of information. You can still find them online... a couple of my favorite reads were his take on Shawn Nelson, North Royalton, Ohio (now the coach at Findlay College) and Luke Fickell, now the head football coach at Wisconsin. If you are ever bored, pulled a couple of these up for your reading enjoyment....also a great learning experience. Fadz http://www.ovaecwrestling.com/2010/2008_brakeman.htm
  19. I've always preached that wrestling wasn't a game!
  20. You and Jadidi!
  21. Davison's best guys on those teams...Chase and Brent Metcalf, John Reader, Paul Donahoe, Chad Rousch, Casey Streeter, Trevor and Travis Perry, and Joe and John Whitman. St. Edwards has had many great teams as well as St. Paris Graham....not saying the 1981 St. Ed's team is there best....I like the '82 team, but the '81 team had Pat Welch 3rd, and 5 state champs who all went on to Division 1 success. Greg Wright, Jim Heffernan, Greg Elinsky, Joe Silvestro and Bill Elbin.
