For those that are not tuned in - McGowan was stalled out of the match so Lilledahl won by DQ.

Also, there are Big10 officials that don’t know the penalty point progression rules…

Ooofff. They’re gonna cover 🤦🏻‍♂️

125 from Princeton…wtf was that? 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

I don’t remember a guy immediately and constantly retreat like that, that wasn’t obviously overpowered. Is he hurt? I saw the shoulder tape. That was bad

Princeton had backups in at 157 and 174.  That might have made a three point difference in the dual. At 141, Martino is a dangerous wrestler to tie up with.

Still would have cashed on -46.5. The McGowan stall out was pretty lucky on my end.

I like Indiana (+3.5) and Virginia (+13.5) tonight.  Dunno if they are good or bad bets; just what caught my eye.

I also only bet $1; basically view it as paying for the entertainment of having a rooting interest on a dual I'm largely impartial on .  If I'm lucky than it works out in my favor and if I'm not than oh well - it was a $1 and that's the cost of having a rooting interest.

Virginia got blanked - terrible bet but Indiana won outright so good bet.  Indiana was plus money so I finished the night ahead.

How much could you have made on a $1 bet on the stall out?

If they started doing prop bets, I would probably be able to quit my job. They had Penn State -16.5 last week. That is criminally bad. Made a nice chunk of change on that.

Good call. Next season I will start a betting thread and we can hash it out. Keeping a close eye on NCAA lines.

I forget, is the technical violation supposed to be counted along with the stall calls for the amount of penalty points?

Yes

So he should have been DQ’d sooner?  And the Princeton coaches seemed to be arguing he shouldn’t have even been DQ’d when he was?

Technical violations do not affect stalling calls point progression. 1st stall (warning), 2nd is one point, 3rd is one point, 4th is two points and the fifth is a DQ. For technical violations the sequence is 1st violation is one point, 2nd violation is one point, third violation is two points and a fourth violation is a DQ.

See the Penalty Table on page 64 of the NCAA Wrestling Rules Book for the sequencing and penalties for various violations and stalling.

Its a good wakeup call for McGowan.

I re-watched and I think the second stall call should have gone against Lilledahl as he refused to allow McGowan to circle back towards the center and just pushed him out.   But I'm aware from watching in recent years that no ref calls it that way.  If you give ground and get to the boundary, your opponent has an opportunity for a sumo point if you've done it before.

Lilledahl wasn't exactly a ball of fire out there either.  But he had a better grasp of what was going on and correctly realized he didn't need to take any risk to win the match.

I do agree that the one OOB stall call probably could have went against Lilledahl.  But McGowan could have been called like 5+ other times
