Could actually go the other way: NDSU could prioritize revenue sharing for football even further and widen the resource gap with wrestling.

Didn't they pay close to $20M in entrance fees to move to the MWC and reclassify as FBS? On top of that, they've said their football budget will need a massive increase to be competitive, and the conference has a revenue lock so NDSU won't receive full media revenue payouts until around 2032 and zero postseason revenue during its transition period. As an FBS program, NDSU football will probably receive higher payouts as cupcake games against P4 schools, but idk if they'll be awash in money to the point that it gives wrestling a bunch of new cash to play with in the near future

Close to ???   If you consider $5 million under 20 million I suppose.   They had to pay the automatic $5 to the N.C.A.A. for their extortion of any school that jumps from FCS to FBS and they paid $10 to the Mountain West Conference to be their one football only school.

No idea what you're trying to say. $5M is under $20M. And $5M + $10M is $15M.

But in this case: $12.5M MWC entrance fee + $5M FBS reclassification fee = $17.5M

No, they didn't. They haven't touched the Fargo Dome. They build a new indoor practice facility, but that is about it.

Right, they upgraded their facilities.

Craig Henning got screwed in the 2007 NCAA Finals.

NDSU already has an indoor stadium.

Yes, and it only hold 19,000 for football.

Going up means needing more seats. Also means a higher ceiling so punts don't hit support structure above them.

The capacity now is on par with top High School football stadiums.

NDSU outdraws most of the MAC, if not all of it. The average attendance requirement is the one of the most gamed stats in CFB. Fargodome is fine.

Insert catchy tagline here.

That was not a stipulation of an invite from any FBS conferences rather on their long term capital plan as a program. So you are still wrong.

It used to mean something, not anymore. When going D2 to FCS, the Big Sky Conference wouldn't extend an invite to NDSU citing the stadium capacity as an issue. With the change in the college football landscape, it literally doesn't matter. As @Jason Bryant stated, it matters how many eyeballs now. Northwestern has operated with ~12,000 for a long time and do just fine.

I'm not at all surprised that you have no idea what's been said here.  Life must be extremely difficult for you given that you clearly can't grasp the meaning of written words.   And your figures are incorrect.   You have my sympathy.

"The school will pay $12.5 million to join the conference, athletic director Matt Larsen said. The fee is in addition to the $5 million it will pay the NCAA to move to the FBS." + 22 additional scholarships for football, and you're pressing up against $20M.

It's only been a few years for Northwestern playing in the soccer stadium while the football stadium is renovated.

It also helps that Martin Stadium is pretty easy on the eyes in-person and on tv. But yeah, B1G media money. The new Ryan field is going to be incredible this fall.

That practice facility was coming whether they moved up or not. Sorry.
