Is this a real quote?

Don't know. Probably not but she's certainly dumb enough to say something like that, so we can consider it to be true.

Every day there’s a lesson to be learned. Today’s lesson is maybe we should look into things instead to blindly believing commentary that gives us warm fuzzies, told to us by those that want us to be angry at each other:

But he was disgusting enough to write songs that are so vile they can't be aired on public airways. Now we're supposed to embrace him as some sort of saint because he only made vulgar motions and didn't sing his usual disgusting version.

I just think it's awesome that the TPUSA show featured a song that opens with lyrics complaining about how he only wants to fish, drink beer, and not hear anything he doesn't want to hear (safe space!).

You couldn't come up with a better summation of USA conservatives right now lol.

They control the entire government, and it's not enough because they can't control the entire culture and have to see and hear people and opinions different from theirs. Spoiled children!

Kid Rock - "Cool, Daddy Cool"

"Young ladies, young ladies, I like ’em underage/ See, some say that’s statutory/ But I say it’s mandatory."

Also Kid Rock:

“Why is every guy in America waiting on these chicks to turn 18?” he said during the appearance. “If there’s grass on the field, play ball.”

There has definitely been a lot of projection by those one the right having always accused the left of needing "safe spaces" but the level of sensitivity now has been pretty astounding to say the least...

They need to have literal counter programming for every single thing these days. But very true they are trying to force their way of life and beliefs on everyone else. I won't deny the left probably went too far with this kind of stuff as well but the right has taken it to a whole new level...

Did he play the half time show? As long as he changed the lyrics he should be good to go? What is your point.

He headlined it buddy lol. The point being, you can't criticize Bad Bunny's lyrics when Kid Rock headlined the conservative show.

Another entry into the file of: “something that was not said but I’ll twist it around to feel better about myself.”  Can you point to where I made any notion that you should embrace anything?

It is interesting you don’t have anywhere near the angst toward someone writing about sex with minors. Which is why I said the “moral integrity” card is probably not your best play.

But, carry on…

I can, and I did. I Find neither acceptable, however 1 grew up. The NFL felt Latin 2 Live crew was the best option available to rep their brand.

You assuming Kid Rock is my guy is one hell of a straw man.   If you want to do a tit for tat on left verses right morality in music lyrics and actually real world execution of values I'd be happy to further this discussion.

I watched both for at least a little.   TPUSAs was less offensive from a straight sexuality point of view.   But I kind of tuned out of it was well.   I would be likely to watch if Foo Fighters, or Mammoth, or Metallica played the halftime show.

And yet another addition to the above mentioned file.   Again, never said or implied he was “your guy”.  Just noted your selective outrage (obvious deep anger about the bunny guy and trying to preach ‘moral integrity’, while literally saying “who cares” in regard to lyrics about sex with minors.  You left your own receipts with this one). Nothing about my comments here have been about left vs right, they’ve been about your call for ‘’moral integrity”.

The sheep herders got you good.  You're so blindly angry you cant even see straight.  Maybe over the weekend you should check in to that moral integrity.  Either way, I hope you have a great one.

If you ask me...and I know no one is...l think this whole halftime thing was and is being overblown on both sides (again not sure why it is a pick a side issue, but here we are)...why can't or couldn't it just be you watched one or the other because you liked the music better than one or the other?  I personally like country/rock WAY more than rap, and I actually had no idea who Bad Bunny was until he was announced to perform, but I watched Bad Bunny because it was what was playing where I was watching the game and I was curious as to what the "buzz" was about...at the end I said "huh...I don't get it because I didn't understand what was being said but it had a nice beat"...and then moved on and watched the second half of the game.  Never felt the need to feel so strongly one way or the other about it.

What I look forward to in terms of singing at the super bowl is the national anthem...what did everyone think of it this year.  I was like it was ok/good, but not great.  Sure hard to beat Whitney Huston's or Chris Stapelton's versions if you ask me...those were goosebump/teary eyed versions.

This👍

Agree on the national anthem.  I feel like that was a big miss.  Chris Stapleton was amazing, I use that for the national anthem before competition/event any time I can!

His rendition is definitely top of the list for me...so good!  That is a great idea playing it before meets/tournaments...I am going to bring it up to my local high school...they play the caned instrumental version.

Probably one of the first times that I read a post of yours and said "now that is a reasonable response."

I commend you.

I'm waiting to read one of your posts where I can say the same!  😂🤣  Sorry, I had to.  I am kidding of course...sorta.  😉 Seriously, I think a lot of people on here would probably get along if they actually met in person...I enjoy having friends that think differently than I do as we have some pretty good conversations and I do learn different perspectives.

Agreed on all counts. We have state qualifier this weekend and tonight should be at the very least entertaining if everyone is in the lineup but I don't hold out hope for that...

Apparently you read wrong.   Fine is a member of Congress.   He wrote to the head of the FCC.   So your statement has holes in it a mile wide.

Apparently he understood the lyrics, or someone did.   With the dancers and the two men tangoing, it would not surprise me if he was ultra vulgar.   His show was ultra vulgar.   Can you say the equivalent of the F word in Spanish on prime time broadcast TV?   I would guess not.   I guess the FCC will decide on this one maybe.

Looks like we have a follow up here

https://nypost.com/2026/02/13/media/bad-bunny-super-bowl-halftime-show-just-had-a-brush-with-the-fcc-sources/

“The FCC’s initial take is that the act and the songs that the Puerto Rican rapper belted out during the halftime show — “Tití Me Preguntó,”Monaco,” and “Safaera” — were scrubbed of lyrics that normally include references to sex acts and genitalia”
