They invented wrestling with their arms behind their back yes.   No one else has ever before or after embraced that stall tactic.

The fact RBY did it does not make it right. Was it legal? No refs challenged or called him on it just like they aren't calling stalling with the half prayer kneeling with no offensive moves.

So same.    No need for the psu faithful to endlessly talk about what they did too.

So RBY stalled his way to 8 take downs by not using 1 arm against one guy? Or did he just not give Desanto a wrist to pull on because he had no other move?

I was the one that constantly replied to every post he made to "Pay His Debts."

It wasnt even that serious. It was literally to add a statement to his signature.

RBY keeping his arm behind his back is not stalling at all. It was smart tactical wrestling by preventing Desanto from doing his best move. Furthermore RBY would actually shoot and score points inconjuction with keeping his arm back. Thats not stalling in any shape or form. Thats called good tactical wrestling, mini, icing your opponent's strengths.

Rocco and Angelo both stalled the entire roughly 9 minutes of neutral wrestling. Angelo knelt down while Rocco beat on his head like a bongo drum. Neither seemed interested in wrestling.

As for Flo/Intermat rankings, Rocco earned the top spot even if he hasn't convinced many that he's he best wrestler.

It wasn’t a super exciting match for fans… but what exactly would you do to take Ferrari down when he’s on a knee?

Wait, we had a thread on "Is being on a knee. is stalling?"  The consensus was that it wasn't stalling per se.  Using this logic, one arm behind the back isn't stalling unless the guy uses it in order to stall, if the wrestler attacks it isn't stalling. Same as being on one knee.  RBY got takedowns.  What we saw was Rocco waiting out Angelo in order to get him his knee.  Rocco wasn't going to have a successful attack while Angelo was on a knee.  Bang the head and keep your distance.  Angelo is too far away for a blast or angle to a leg.  Rocco's only attacks were the few times Angelo got off the knee.  Engaging Angelo while he is on a knee favors Angelo.  Both on their feet favors Rocco.  It's up to Angelo to get up of mat or stay there and get hit with a stall call.

Yes, it's boring.  I couldn't tell if I was watching the match or watching the plant grow by the TV.  It is exactly how I thought the match would go, but I thought Angelo would win the riding competition.

Oh, and Welsh should be number one, but it really doesn't matter.   The top 4 are the top 4, kind of like 197 last year.

Thats not exactly what happened. Angelo does shoot from down there. Welsh just posted and waited. He shut down angelos ability to wrestle from there and refused to engage. How is posting on the head and doing nothing more active than what Angelo did? Angelo got called because he was on a knee but Rocco was actively stifling his offense and disengaging. Which is basically  the definition of stalling. Im not crying over it and i expect people to lose their minds over it but its just true. The match was complete booty.

You just said Rocco would not engage and "kept his distance". Isnt that stalling? Why is it on Angelo to come up from a knee? If he can and is working from there and the other wrestler says ill just post, do nothing and keep distance, then who is stalling?

Ok for that you earned a gold star. All kidding aside, it would be fun to create some sort of non $$$ wager incentive here. Great way to create more participation and attract new participants.

Do you think it's impossible to score on a guy who's on a knee? Why doesn't every wrestler go to a knee after they get lead?

Removing whether arm behind back or being on one knee is stalling, one thing we learned from all the RBY v DeSanto and Welsh v Jello matches is that the Penn State program solves the puzzle while Brands Bros. don't.

Six matches. SIX times Austin DeSanto got zero takedowns. RBY scored in every single match.

This is the difference in the two programs.

Just explain how you would take Ferrari down when he’s on a knee. What exactly would you do?

There were a total of zero takedowns in the Starocci-Ferrari and Welsh-Ferrari matches. Tough to see how that changes.

I do remember when some would complain about Dan Gable & his tactics. Crank on an arm bar on one side until basically numb & then the other side for the same thing. Then go for the pin.

John Smith was too often accused of cheating with his low to the mat style.

Maybe we need a Jordan Burroughs blast attack against Ferrari?

Doesn't that just prove that a good wrestler on one knee vs a top flight guy on two feet unwilling to take bad shots equates to removing action?

Rby with his arm behind him didnt stop DeSanto from getting to Rby leg. DeSanto got to Rby leg every match, he just couldn't finish.

Right. The RBY analogy makes no sense so I ignored it.

The point I’m making is that Ferrari’s so good, strong, athletic, and flexible that when he’s on his knee, I’m not sure anyone can do anything offensively. And for those who say guys are stalling when they don’t shoot on him while he’s on a knee, I’d like to know how exactly they’re supposed to take him down.
