Jonathan Ross. Over 10,000 people have donated to a go fund-me someone has started for him. They have raised right at 500K so far.

I’m trying to figure out why he needs a go fund me (and this has nothing to do with whether or not I think it was a justified killing). 
 

He didn’t lose his job, he didn’t lose pay, no matter what the president or Noem says, you can clearly see in the video he was not injured. Is he getting over half a million because he’s in the middle of a controversy?

He’s had to leave his home and is in hiding. Pretty sure the bills are still coming and I’m guessing it’s not free where he’s staying now.

He's gonna get his. That piece of slime will be tormented the rest of his life, even if state can't press charges due to feds keeping the evidence from them. Then he can burn in hell after he passes away.

Homan stated they “were moved to a secure location”.  If DHS is putting them up that’s not on his dime, it’s on ours.  Bills still coming in but he hasn’t lost his pay.  
 

Don’t get me wrong, tragic situation all around, it’s terrible his family has to be secured no matter what one thinks of the shooting, and anyone is free to start and contribute to a go fund me.   Just seems to me, if one wants to contribute to a needed go fund me there are many situations where a fund for the family is more worthy.  Seems like this family is going to get a huge check because people are being emotional.

I’m pretty confident that his wife and kids will be the beneficiaries of the money (towards college etc…) and they’ll probably have to move somewhere and start over which imo is worth something.  I personally wouldn’t give any money to him or the hubby/wifey/partner of the good lady as none of this needed to happen.

Precisely what evidence does mn not have.

I mean they have the vid.   Maybe if they were there doing their job protecting Leo and arresting rioters they would have collected whatever evidence they needed.

He’s a hero.  Doing his job unfortunately the crazy rioters make it a harder job than it needs to be…. And it’s already a hard job.  
 

Maybe people want to donate to him.  You certainly don’t have to.

You really think he still has a career with ICE?  I seriously doubt they ever send him out again.  He’s now a target, he and anybody near him would be in danger from people who think like RV.

You really think being out on the streets are the only positions within ICE?   There's a saying about it's better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are ignorant, rather than to open it and remove all doubt.  He has previously held various instructor positions within ICE.   Plenty of other options within the department, particularly if he is a 'hero'.

It's truly a bizarre world we live in when you can murder somebody as an overpaid federal agent, walk away scratch free when you were never in danger of being anything more than grazed, and get a million dollars in exchange.

It's insurance in case the people threatening to kill him carry out their desire.   You may consider this murder, but that is demonstrably not the case.  Murder is a very strong word that is associated with intent to kill.   Like in premeditated.  Like he planned to kill someone in that instance because he wanted to.  

Now it is apparent it was not murder.   Wrongfully killed or manslaughter, perhaps.   But he was hit by the car and I can see his reaction to that as a defense mechanism.   I can see both arguments that he shouldn't have fired or that it was acceptable based on him getting hit by a runaway van.   Either way, it was not murder.
