The wrestling community lost a great athlete and coach in Todd Meneely, who passed away today after a car accident a few days ago.  His family updated that his organs are being harvested for donation, which everyone should applaud (Askren situation should make this a no-brainer). After one of the greatest HS careers in Nebraska HS wrestling, he had a quick stint at Iowa and then won 3x national championships at UNO.  He coached a bunch of AA's in Greco especially, but now two of his kids are crushing it in NCAA D1 (Antrell Taylor and Isaac Trumble).  Just a sad, sad situation...he had 2 young sons and a wife, too.  Say a prayer for them, and Antrell, too (that guy has been through more than just about anyone in terms of losing people close to him).  Todd had one of the most incredible Fargo tournaments of all time, when he won Greco with about eight 10-0 blowouts in a row, then teched his way to the Freestyle finals and took out Teyon Ware.  Dude was legendary

If anyone has stories or memories, leave them here.  I will update with any kind of donation opportunities when I see them.  I was a senior in HS when he was in middle school, but his Dad, Jay, was in my corner for a lot of matches.  Great people.

Damn that stinks.  Condolences to the family.

Thanks for the update. I remember the name as one of the top recruits out of high school back in the day. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

he was Antrell's godfather.

Yeah man obviously a lot of people, friends and family, in Omaha wrestling circles are going to be hit hard by this loss, but what Antrell Taylor has gone through goes beyond the whole "Once you've wrestled..." mantra.  It's almost unbelievable and just plain unfair.
