Here is Snoqualmie Falls on a typical day.

Here it is right now.

We've had record rain fall here in the Western WA area.   Various towns will get flooded out.   My wife and i went to see these falls yesterday and I've never seen anything like it.   Rivers are at record heights all over western WA.   Tolt, Skagit, Skokomish, Skykomish, Snoqualmie, Cedar, Green, White, and Puyallup rivers are way high.

I live on the side of a mountain, but the flooding could impact  my mobility.   But not much else.   It's the folks near rivers and streams that  have to worry.   WA Hwy 18 is closed due to a mudslide between I-90 and the Issaquah Hobart road.   So that is an issue on the roads.   That is in King County.   Hwy 18 goes between I-90 west of Snoqualmie to Federal Way on I-5.   It is a major road for the commute.  I had heard that there was a mudslide on I-90 as well, but I think that was a confusion with the one on Hwy 18.

Here is a lousy map.   The exclamation points are where the mudslide is and that is near Raging River which is also probalby flooding.

This is I-90 with mud on it yesterday so I stand corrected.  Bad deal around here.

Rivers have crested, not raining again until Monday.  The weather dudes think around 3 inches next week.   It's pretty serious around here.   My co-worker had to drive home yesterday through an area where the Cedar river crested and 4 feet of water on the road.   He drove through that like a maniac.   He asked me this morning to do something for him and told me that and I told him to work from home today.   He's in the office now.   Said it was only 2 feet of water now.

Our drainage creek was just about overflowing.   It's been higher before but it was really moving.   I live on a mountain but have to go down to a creek area to get to work.   The creek usually floods out the cow pastures  and it is there right now.   I've seen it higher but it is not far from it.   The cows and horses need to do some diving to get to the grass!!!

...not a good idea imo, but maybe he had no choice? I think you can do some real damage that way, especially as the water gets into electrical components.
