I am more curious on the consolations.

Are they done if they lose?  That seems crappy.

No.  True double elimination.  I believe to 3rd.  I have heard "full consolation brackets" from Flo.  I also know that 3rd place winnings are the same as second place in order to incentivize teams in the consolations.

The full bracket and consolation structure/payouts is visible on https://nationaldualsinvitational.com/.  I'd post it, but it's big and I'm not particularly savvy with that kind of thing.

Not working for me.

If you 'print screen' you can ctrl+v here.  I just want to see the brackets.

You're the best man! Penn State is the awesomest.  I wish I was their fan!  They shouldn't ever bother doing anything to help the sport.  They ARE the sport!  I wish I could just comment on how great they are constantly!

If you don't like this event, you are free to not comment.  PSU is historically great, but we can still have fun without their involvement.

Too triggered.

- Iowa has the easiest road to the Semis

- Bottom half seems stronger than the top half.  Not sure I can see anything other than Iowa/OSU semis.

- Cornell being the weakest with 1/2 their lineup out and getting drawn in against the host school who is paying for this thing.  Not a full conspiracy but that's convenient.

- Lehigh/Nebraska might be the toughest 1st round.  Lehigh might only need 1 match to go their way and pull off the "upset"

- Yes, there could be some great individual matches in the 1st round, but too many of these never materialize in the past for me to get that excited about it in October.

Well the school isn't paying for it but they are familiar with the venu as is the rest of the B12.

So this isn't true wrestlebacks.  The semi-final losers will wrestle for 3rd/4th.

So if you don't make the semi-finals you are wrestling back for 5th, which is a substantially lower payout.

Would you have felt better if it read: The host school whose major donor is paying for it or are we just being naive that Paycom = OSU Wrestling.

Pretty sure it's the way they've always done Ntl Duals (too many matches if full WB) except for the money thing which is a bonus.

The Paycom guy (Chad) isn't even an OSU guy.  He is a guy who supports wrestling in Oklahoma ... went to UofCO.   But yeah if it were the "school's" money they would spend it on something else like a new football coach.

I said he was a major donor, never an alum.   You would think a guy who likes to comment on technicalities would be better at reading comprehension.

I already acknowledged  its not technically the school's money but Paycom's money and pointing that distinction out seems obtuse at best considering OSU and their head coaches involvement in the creation and planning of the event.
