So your boss hears this after they have talking to you about it, since a guy proved he had a supporting majority audience, and they suspend you.  Yes bosses don't like to be ignored especially  over and over. So was it  triggered probably so. I agree that Car should never have said his opinion publicly, and this instance is no place for government involvement. I think an unofficial statement triggered what the bosses were in process of initiating in a less severe way. I believe Car made an unofficial biased emotional statement that was threatening that triggered a motion on the table.

Imagine if we all, as ‘we the people’, could actually understand that and apply it  to all corners, instead of only applying it when they say something that gives us a warm fuzzy about the ‘side’ we don’t like.   It’s easy to say, but more difficult to actually practice.
