I think a better question is why did it change from illegal alien to undocumented immigrants?

Firstly, no it isn’t. It’s a semantic question that doesn’t address the topic.
secondly, for the same reason we stop using slurs for all other groups. It’s dehumanizing. Making it easier to treat them as ‘less than’. Unless that is your goal. To propose solutions to a problem without having the burden of thinking of them as similar to you in anyway. It tells us how unserious you are in addressing the issue. Tells us that you intend to treat them with as little compassion and empathy as possible. Flexing your privilege for no other reason than because you can. If that is the case, it makes you a monster. If not, you’re just a bigot.

*not saying that you think or feel this way. But how insisting on using those terms might say about you.

47 likes to pardon obvious criminals. If U-I are in fact criminals why not just pardon them for the good of the country. To ‘bring us all together’.

The issue is economic. They are a burden on hard working Americans, and there are significant cartel linked criminals that should not be here.

The term illegal alien is used to factually describe what they are...they came across the border or are here ILLEGALLY, and they are not from the US hence they are an ALIEN to our country.  You and others can make up in your heads a million ways why that is offensive or how it "hurts" people but facts are facts and they don't care about feelings.  Also, you can make up terms like "privilege" or call me names all you want but it doesn't change any of the facts.

We are talking about "foreign nationals who live without official authorization in a country of which they are not a citizen."  Many of these nationals are documented but they do not reside here legally.  Illegal immigrant is a more accurate term than undocumented immigrant.  An alien is any individual who is not a U.S. citizen or U.S. national. We are referring to aliens residing in the country illegally, hence the appropriate term 'illegal alien.'

Take your love of ever changing neutral terminology and shove it up the exhaust manifold of your posterior sitting region.  Don't be a bigot against truthful terms.

1st point: Burden, how do?

Agreed. Not all, most, or even a plurality of U-I fall into that category tho.

Chicagoans Revolt Over City Spending on Illegal Migrants

Chicagoans clearly have a high tolerance for government corruption, fiscal mismanagement and high taxes. But even residents of the Windy City have their limits. Over the last several weeks, public anger and frustration has boiled over as city leaders sought to approve a budget that proposed to spend millions of dollars on illegal aliens. Citizens turned up at a series of City Council meetings to vent their anger about the city’s lavish spending on the migrants who have poured into Chicago since the Biden-Harris administration threw open our borders.

Are definitions descriptive or prescriptive?

Obviously those protesters were paid by the right. So they can’t be trusted to actually represent chicagoians. So there’s no reason to believe anything about this story. Frustrating isn’t it?

DARVO cannot ever build anything of substance. It can only destroy.

who do we know of that has not and boasted that they will never take accountability for anything? (Hint, 45-47) Anyone that supports or follows a hollow person like that is in a cult. I hope that doesn’t describe you.

My taxes have gone up 3 times in the last 3 years.   Yes.

No one sited you as privileged or called you names. Just that someone that uses those terms could be seen as such. If you’re taking offense to a hypothetical then you’re admitting you might fall within it. I made no claim as such. Read more carefully and leave your emotions out of it.

Yes. Certain terms were in fact ‘definitions’. Appealing to the legality is lazy. It IS dehumanizing calling someone an alien.
is there a reason you want to continue to see these particular humans as ‘less than’? Because insisting on outdated terminology has a history and not a good one.
Not unlike the pro-nouns debacle of the early 20’s. It comes off like a child putting their fingers in their ears and screaming ‘I DON’T WANNA!’ You just look sad and out of touch.

That quote doesn’t confirm the numbers you sited. If you watched the speech/presser, site the time stamp where those numbers were mentioned?

You believe Chicago is spending $0 on illegals?  Whats your stance here.    It’s been well defined and in the news for years.    Your challenging the validity of that ?

Pivot!

your claim was challenged. You can’t back it up. I just watched the video. Nothing like what you claimed was said. So you lied. Your ‘common sense’ which, can we agree means: ‘how I put things together’, was wrong. You want something to be true so you twisted something into a pretzel to make it seem like it if I just ‘trusted you, bruh’.

what do you do next?
change the subject. Move the goal posts. DARVO!

or just admit you were mistaken or lied and become smarter in your process.

why is this so difficult? Don’t you want to be smarter? Isn’t that a goal of yours?

My point is they are a burden financially on cities like Chicago.  This is a blatant fact.  You can’t argue that

Another one from the list, meanwhile I feel like you have been "othering" those who disagree with you.
