There's absolutely zero evidence that crime is going up. An accusation about misreporting in one precinct is a pretty pathetic way to demonstrate thst crime is increasing city wide.

There’s plenty of evidence.  You’re just ignoring it.  Btw there will be plenty more coming soon from your union boss buddy

I don't know the stats for my area, but I do know without a doubt it's the worst I've experienced in my lifetime.  The people of DC say it's out of control, I'll believe them. The only ones complaining about increased enforcement are politicians, activists, and criminals.

I was there around 2018 I think. Around the white house area. I saw zero crime and walked around by myself at night every night I was there.

Trump is just positioning key military people for the mass arrests of his political opponents. It's the only logical reason.  There is no way he really called in help to fight crime, DC is the leftist utopia we've all been waiting for.  After all these years of democrat leadership it was inevitable.  Marion Berry can finally get the recognition he deserves. Maybe a statue.

This must be a consequence of actions in 1619 and those 125 cars (and their owners) deserved it.  The poor oppressed peeps were just trying to buy bread for their starving children anyway and those 125 oppressors did not give away enough money to provide bologna sandwiches.

Elections have consequences.

People who tolerate me on a daily basis . . . they are the real heroes.

I watched a clip where a stats guy, claims to be bipartisan, talked about the "stats" coming out about DC.  He said the overall violent crime rate isn't always a good one to assess crime in a city, but rather just use murders as those you really can't manipulate because there is a dead body.  All the other statistics that go into the violent crime rate is routinely under-reported, and/or there is a change as to how they are classified year over year and sometimes month over month.  So looking at just murder rate in DC as of August 15, 2025 there were 113 at this same time last year versus 101 for this year.  Maybe it is just me but if I am living in DC I wouldn't be feeling like "Yay...our city is safe again!"

Again I ask, why are people so against trying to make a city more safe??  I don't understand the logic.  Looking at this overall I feel bad for the DC police force as they clearly were not able to do their job...as it appears the police chief is completely incompetent along with the mayor...to me they are the ones who caused the need for the national guard to show up...and I am 100% okay with it.  Hopefully, there is change at the top and the DC police force can finally do their job once the national guard leaves.

Some of them made an argument I’ll paraphrase.   If you’re not part of the gangs.  If you’re not a dope dealer getting caught up in inner city crime is statistically low/impossible.  When I posted a series of innocent kids or old ladies or what not getting killed in Chicago they poo poo’ed it.

I posted a stat   (I’m not looking it up again).   There were something like 2,300 gang murders in Chicago over a 2-3 year period…. That was poo poo’ed by some of the posters here too.

Somehow they just think there isn’t excessive violence and crime in big blue cities across the nation.

edit: it was 2300 shootings by July of 2024 I think

On that note.   Just stay away from gangs.   I’m going to a concert tonight.   Last time I went to one a few weeks ago…. (United center Chicago…. Blackhawks bulls concerts etc).  You have to make choices where you park.  The neighborhood around there is trash.  You have to make choices which way to drive home as I live in the western burbs but choose to drive around the best route home because it is through trash neighborhoods.    Gang Kids harass you for protection money to not steal your car.

I went to riot fest last year and was asking my buddy where to park.   He was like anything north east and most of west is trash don’t park there.   It is near of the worst neighborhoods in the city.

comiskee park is in a trashy neighborhood.

often you can’t just avoid these places.   Driving through them is sketchy.

I posted a Biden video from 1992.  Premise is he is a new senator and the veteran senators said don’t stop at red lights in the city at night.  To slow down and wait for green.  He’s 100% right.   On Ogden on the way home from the stadium you blow every single red light or someone will make a visit to your car and harass you at best.   Car jack you at worst.

regular joe citizens are sick of this.   Democrats just don’t see it though.  And continue to let it happen.

Crime is often a product of poverty.  Address the poverty issues whether it is big city or rural and crime rates will drop.  Especially drug related and property offenses.  Fix the metaphorical broken windows.

There's no room for sensible takes on this forum. You're supposed to ignore evidence or make up your own to support whatever your favorite media outlet tells you to support.

Alright.   Start with canning the DoE and teacher’s unions.

I’ve been repeatedly hearing on this forum crime isn’t an issue in dc…. And there is no need to combat it differently.   Do you have a different take?

Where are the people who live in the crime ridden areas in these protests?   Looks like old liberal crusaders not people living in the hood.   Not a black or brown to be found here

91% of the citizens say crime in DC is out of control. That means it’s highly probable those protesters aren’t from there.
