not really...

does not make it less scummy...

i praise odin daily that US athletes do not have to worry about being held responsible for their governments actions...

Now that the IOC is getting itself past its issues with the war, when will they address the Putin regime's repeated attempts to undermine drug testing rules? I'm not a big PED prude, but the world still has to say enough is enough with the Russian state's behavior.

I do believe this is actually the more important issue within the IOC given their desire to be just about sport and not about politics.

100% honest...

i just do not get too worked up about doping...

the supplements i buy every month is out of reach for 99% of the world...

not just financially, but, just that level of nutrition...

how much different is that from any of the numerous things athletes have popped for...

like ibuprofen...

That's not what was being pushed prior to Sochi.

We can argue whether USADA/WADA is too strict, but the Russians were way, way over the line.

His last match I think went like this.

He was not in as good a shape as in the past.   That was obvious watching his matches before the finals.   He wasn't as sharp, he couldn't get his reverse lift going.  He wasn't as strong as in the past.  All of that combined with Rulon's game plan that allowed him to do his best and provide for his best defense.   He defended against the lift in a way I hadn't seen before but it was throwing Karelin off.   He just had to stay in there and pummel.   If not for the ridiculous clinch rule, Karelin could have won and maybe so, at least by criteria if it had stayed tied as Rulon was put down a few times.   But he broke his grip and lost.   But Rulon showed the heart of a champion in that match denying Karelin of his signature moves.

I think if Karelin had come in at the same kind of strength and conditioning that he was known for, he would have won.   But Rulon's game plan worked and Rulon won with a weakened Karelin.   To show it was no fluke, he won WC the next year.   So he was no joke.

Sorry for missing the signals.  I'm obtuse like that sometimes.

At your age, what about  my age!!   Ask my kids, I've been around since the stone ages before computers and cell phones and video game consoles.

I got pong!

Plugged into the back of the TV through the special dongle that had spade lugs you had to screw down onto the antenna screws and a female RCA plug for the Pong machine.

We played that thing until it died years later.

Maybe there's a Pong survivors group we can join.

We're not that old fellas. Just feels like it...

Waves of nostalgia…

my first trash 80 was connected to a 13” B/W the same manner… 4K internal memory… recording programs on audio tape…

it was quite a step up from hoop and stick…
