Why doesn’t he just say I feel the same way about Iran as I do Israel?

1) Nobody asked him.

2) Our government doesn't send billions of tax dollars to Iran every year or arm Iran with our weapons.

He criticized the Saudi war in Yemen. Why? Because we were actually involved in it.

Okay, but as I said, he didn't believe they were a terrorist group. That's the message of the song.

And please be specific, what have you heard him say now that leads you to believe he supports terrorism?

I see the song as reasonable criticalness of the US culture.  Yet even if he believes the HLF was unjustly prosecuted, he expresses "My love to the Holy Land 5."  I looked them up and they were classified with evidence as a terrorist organization.  Hence he supports groups that are and/or minimally supported terrorist organizations.

1.  Doesn’t matter

2.  Doesn’t matter

He won’t say it because he’s a Muslim and doesn’t feel that way.

You're missing the point. He may have been wrong, but he clearly believed at the time they were unjustly convicted.

I'm not an expert on the case, but it remains highly controversial and the legitimacy of the evidence presented is intensely debated.

He was 25 years old trying to be a social activist rapper. He wrote a song about Muslim discrimination in America and referenced the most famously controversial trial on that issue. I doubt he did extensive research for his rap song.

Misguided? Sure. But it's not evidence that he supports terrorism when everything he's actually said during his run is to the contrary.

Yeah, and he thinks they should have equal rights.

Are you under the impression Zohran has the power to unilaterally dissolve foreign governments?

No. I’m just pointing out that what he says isn’t consistent when it’s Israel vs an Arab country.

When all else fails, the truth comes out: just plain old racism. I'm going to stop responding at this point.

I really hope the U.S. can one day escape this endless back-and-forth between Republicans and Democrats. It’s just the same broken system with different faces-and the propaganda around it keeps people from seeing any real alternative.

Agreed.  We are are too human to see past the media, to tribal to be open, and too comfortable to reasonable act.

And who can blame us when we are a slow boiling frog called Rome.

So at worst, he was a misguided aspiring rapper in his 20s.

I bet you had a lot of opinions in your 20s that you didn't in your 30s. People are allowed to grow up. The dude has been a paragon of professionalism during his entire campaign. There's a reason people are trying to tie him to stuff from years ago. He's given them nothing to smear him with in his actual campaign.

He said “white neighborhoods,” that means he’s racist!

Strike 3

Refers to the ultimate goal of seizing the means to production.

It feels as though the left is in a more ascendant position than in recent years. I want to emphasize that as our position shifts, as we accumulate power and elect individuals like myself and my slate mates to local office, we are treated differently than before. As power engages with us now, it’s critical to remember what we’re fighting for and to ensure our agenda is driven by conviction, not political calculus. Many of our beliefs, such as student debt cancellation or Medicare for All, already have widespread popular support across the country. However, there are other issues we firmly believe in, like BDS or the ultimate goal of seizing the means of production (10:12 in video), where we currently lack the same level of public support.

I still find it difficult to accept that even New York City would elect this guy.

You’re probably right but he’s leading in the polls and there’s 6x as many democrats in NYC than there are Republicans.  I’m kinda hoping he wins.  They deserve it.

Would be nice. With that being said I’ll take this “broken” system over any other in the world. Seems like everyone that wants into America feels similar.

BTW, what would a “real” alternative look like to you?

So you’re from the same school of thought as Red Viking, only difference is being a fan of the opposite side of the aisle.  I guess it’s only fair for both sides to have seats at the kiddie table.

Nah it’s merely pointing out something the shouldn’t need to be pointed out.  NYC has been run poorly for awhile now.  Anyone voting should know he’s not going to make it any better.  That’s far different than wanting the stock market to crash.  But you know that already.
