Reports indicate that the suspect in the June 14, 2025 shooting of Minnesota lawmakers, Vance Luther Boelter, was appointed to Minnesota's Governor's Workforce Development Board by Governor Tim Walz in 2019

. This board advises the governor on matters related to the state's workforce.

The suspect was appointed  by two Minnesota governors. Mark Dayton and Tim Walz.  Both Democrats.
