As a kid, I had recurring dreams of fleeing a bear in a dark forest, always escaping but waking up scared, heart pounding. I’m not sure what caused them... maybe watching Jason or Freddy too young. The fear stuck with me, making the memory vivid. Now, I rarely remember my dreams.

Speaking of dreams... did you ever watch What Dreams May Come (1998) with Robin Williams?

My most memorable and scary dream that I had a lot as a kid but only every once in a while now is watching a plane crash, and waking up super scared/stressed.  Now I have started dreaming that I am in a plane that feels like it is going to crash and somehow doesn't.

In elementary school, I would dream I was climbing a sand pyramid and as I get 2/3rds of the way up I start sinking and the sand try's to envelope me. I lived across the street from a forging plant making truck parts where huge hammers would pond in rhythm through the night in the 60's. Would wake up before being swallowed by the sand. Wow I just had a thought. No matter how hard you try there are some things you just cant reach.

Your sand pyramid dream feels like a Sisyphean struggle. Did you catch reruns of The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin or The Lone Ranger in the ‘60s? I used to watch Western reruns (80s) with my dad, and quicksand was a classic trap.
