umm...no the source is Bob Dellinger, director emeritus of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. The magazine is where he said it.

It's baffling you guys are arguing that Lincoln's wrestling record didn't exist but Jacob, a guy from a book of fiction, wrestled an imaginary creature and that DID happen.

You have another thing coming if you think I'm going to believe our country was founded in 1776 by Pilgrims who didn't want to be forced to join the Catholic Church and then cites Black Belt magazine and noted historian Bob Dellinger as his sources!

I mean, just yesterday you said our country was founded by Pilgrims who didn't want to join the Catholic Church and wanted our country to be a melting pot of ethnicities and religions!  The Bible has far more legiti history than your posts.

You've yet to prove jacob's "match" with the angel happened

It's documented in the number one published book of all time.

It being the "number one published book of all time" doesnt make it non fiction. Harry Potter sold a lot of copies. Is that non fiction now too?

legiti? I don't follow you.

You're dancing around the topic because I'm right. The bible is a work of fiction. Jacob didn't wrestle an angel. Abraham Lincoln, however, had an extensive wrestling record.

Seriously, grow the hell up.

Just so you all have the correct rendering (KJB) of the 100% true account of Jacob wrestling with God → see below. (Yes, I am a Bible believer and not ashamed of it. If you can believe Gen 1:1 then you will have no problem believing anything in the Bible. If you doubt Gen 1:1, then you will doubt much of the Bible.)

Gen 32:24  And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.
Gen 32:25  And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.
Gen 32:26  And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
Gen 32:27  And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
Gen 32:28  And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.

But you haven't cited any publication.

I'm going with being charitable and thinking that a lot of these statements are satirical.

You'd think. Then someone comes along like the comment above and says they believe it all to be fact.

Good work on the "legit." I admit you got me.

That doesn't change the fact that the Bible has more actual history that whatever your unbelievably flawed understanding of US history is.  Did your state require US History as a graduation requirement.

And "Black Belt Magazine" is a terrible source.  Find a respected historical source, please.

All I said is the Bible has more historical facts than your posts about the Pilgrims yesterday.  And I stand by that.  As would any historian.

I'm not talking about the religious stuff necessarily.  There is actual history in those books, unlike your posts yesterday about the Pilgrims fighting against the Catholics at Lexington in 1776 in order to gain freedom for all religions and ethnicities.
