There are 6 different Master's divisions based on birth year.

A (1991-2000)

B (1983-1990)

C* (1975-1982)

D* (1967-1974)

E* (1959-1966)

F* (1950-1958)

*Medical certificate is required to compete in Master’s C, D, E, & F and must be turned in during weigh-ins. It must be filled out within 90 days of competition

It's a lot of fun to do if you are thinking about it Rodent.   I can't say I did good, but it was fun.   I was bound and determined I would not lose due to passivity, so I initiated action and my inexperience and lack of ability got me in trouble from there.   But I had a blast doing it.

Medical certificate?  I need a defibrillator and an oxygen tank in my corner.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

How old were you when you made your comeback.

I did Veterans FS from 2000-2002.   It was fun.   They look a lot slower, but I found out I was a lot slower as well.   It all evens out.   They used to have guys in the F division that did not look good at all.   Kudos for getting out there but scary due to injury possibilities.   Fortunately, they were not that quick or strong so danger was not high.   But falling down could be a problem.   I am now in the E category.   I hurt my shoulder wrestling and my neck in a car accident.   I don't do the competition anymore.   They all outclass me anyway.    But I did continue asst coaching HS until a few years ago.

One of my college teammates just took 3rd in the D division. He was a weight class below me and a couple years younger, so I practiced with him some.  He wrestled only about 10 pounds heavier than his college weight!  I was that much over the day after a competition, and now about 30 pounds over.

For any old school MMA fans, it looks like Travis Wiuff is wrestling in the C Division Heavyweight finals.

Where did he go to high school? I want to say Jackson County or whatever they were called then?

I’m pretty sure he was at Owatonna.

I thought about throwing my hat in the ring in masters B and I just watched some matches and was surprised how intense it looked and then decided otherwise....
