Not much talk about Lee Roper coming to OSU. I think this is good hire for them. He’s not really a big name, but they have the “star power” covered, so a coach with more experience and reputation as a good coach is just what they need.

With this hire, what makes everyone so sure they are also replacing Gilman’s spot with someone else? Who is Roper replacing and where are they going?

I noticed Derek Fix is no longer listed on the website, but not sure when that happened

Tried to look up what Daddy Fix has been up to and not much luck after a brief search.  His xtwitter account still says Cowboy RTC coach, but he hasn’t posted since 2023.  Random note - one of his last posts was in response to Tyler Caldwell - but apparently Caldwell’s account has been suspended for violating xtwitter rules

Go get Mike Zadick!

Cause if Gilman can't get along at OSU Zadick will fit right in.  🙄

Beginning to look like it's OKST's fault for being disagreeable...🚍

The week of a match?  If Gilman weighed 150 what do we think Kennedy weighs?

I would bet kennedy weighs high 60s.

So RBY, Fix, and McKenna at the RTC - would they be able to work with the lower weight of the collegiate team?  https://static.okstate.com/custompages/crtc/team.html

Also Khayitov Mirzo is listed - don't know him.

I didn’t realize RTC’s usually had an associate head coach and recruiting coordinator.  I guess they just copy pasted from the team site and added Zo.

Arujau

After the season in 2022, there was a ~"Move on, Mr Smith" thread either or here or 34 and counting. I allowed myself to fantasize out loud about Taylor before completely dismissing the idea. But . . . it happened. So maybe maybe maybe Arujau will forget all the nastiness surrounding that last match; decide cows and endless fields of brown are better than whaterfalls, evergreens, and all that other stuff where Dake goes to meditate; and decamp for Stillwater.

Def Gilman's fault. He's a hot head who causes problems wherever he's at. The story of him feuding with Metcald was quite humorous if you've never heard it. Metcalf was even like "what's wrong with this kid?"

Thank you. I'm aware of who's what...

The post was for Ionel and he responded in kind.

And he was the 2nd assistant coach so complaining about the two guys above him.  Remember he is the guy who tried to get in a fight with John Smith in the handshake line after the OSU v IA dual in Stilly ... hmm ... I wonder what went wrong here.  🤔

Well aren’t you implying it was his fault that he “couldn’t get along at OSU”?

Don't think I said anything about fault but pretty sure Gilman said he had issues getting along with the staff.  What he said before the dual and did after is documented on video.

That’s why I said “implying.”  Weird to bring up something that happened like 7 years ago or whenever that was

What's your end game here? What are you trying to accomplish?

I just think it’s interesting that @ionel IMO is “badmouthing” Gilman, which I’m pretty sure he didn’t do during the time he was at OSU, except for maybe questioning his challenge brick timing.

I would argue Thomas Gilman is the biggest villain in Oklahoma State wrestling history. But it’s our fault for thinking he had changed his ways.
