Yes, the senate will be tougher but, as you said, a small number of Republicans could also join in and decide to take control of the tariffs, per the Constitution. 

Trumps only chance to beat China here is to work with our allies. Keeping the 10% tariffs on them keeps them lukewarm to joining in against China. China can easily survive a trade war with the u.s. if that's the only country they're battling.

Red...Trump would have to SIGN that legislation. You keep skipping over that part. We're not EVER going to have enough to override a veto, so that dream is NOT going to happen

And I don't know why you keep saying China can survive these. You don't think we can? We are 1/4th of the world(a bit more) and then we have all the rest of the world. Their GDP will grow and China...they're not doing great right now. 

 

You want to root against the bully, it's a draw here(at best). But one of those bullies is at least ours. The other bully is the same bully that the Democrats have been railing against for years. Now Trump did this in the dumbest way possible and VERY different than every Democrat suggested, but it's still broadly speaking something they advocated. So... give up hope on the tariffs going back to the congress anytime soon. It's staying with POTUS for the rest of his term.

The U.S. has a more diverse economy than China does and it’s less dependent on exports.  Oh and we can feed ourselves.

Lmao. China can import food from and export to any other country. Like I said, they'll be 100% fine unless other countries join Trump. Nobody is though. Nada. Zero.

We're the (or we were) world's reserve currency and China isn't. We have a lot farther to fall and you're seeing that. Dollar is collapsing. Xi sees the blood in the water and is ready to feast.
