I will say ref upstairs did an extremely poor job in his review of the 2 points that he took away. The ref upstairs was from Oklahoma. He should have recused himself.

Is it true the ref graduated from OSU?  🤔

That is the word on the street or he was a big supporter.

Is this the same street @MPhillips lives on and would he agree the ref graduated from OSU?  😉

What Blueblood program isn't in trouble right now that isn't Penn State.  Oklahoma State just because they got David Taylor.  The big issue is that most everyone wants to wrestle for Penn State and while I don't blame them, it sucks for the sport.

I thought it was a lot worse during the Dan Gable era. I never liked Gable's antics, which people today seem to have completely forgotten, or perhaps there are very few people today who remember Gable's antics. People talk about Barry Davis, but he wasn't really any worse than Gable was, Gable just got more largesse because he'd won a gold medal and was such a successful college coach. I don't think I've ever seen Cael throw a chair during a dual meet, for example, which I did observe Dan Gable do at a big dual meet back in the 1970s. As a teenager seeing that sort of "Karen" behavior by Gable turned me off completely, successful coach or not. Cael just remains calm and impassive, for the most part, which impresses me far more. He controls his emotions and isn't controlled by them.

I certainly don't condone coaches throwing chairs, and don't have a clue about what a "Karen" might involve, but I do think a lot of coaches are so attached to their athletes that they can't help but get involved emotionally.  I loved my athletes like they were my own children and could get a bit involved in showing it.  Never threw chairs, although I wanted to a few times.

What about elsewhere or is a dual meet the only unacceptable place to throw a chair...

Chair throwing is appropriate in ALL venues as long as the coach has childlike control of his anger 😄

Its hard to say he must go because he also should get all the credit for everything that has happened thus far.....but they aren't gona get further without a "coache's coach".
