They graduate 157-285 they do have Thompson and Merill coming off Redshirt and Doucet has another year. Travis also likely goes 157. They have Lockett,Vega,Routledge,Robideau who I all think can go right away. Do they sort of punt the year they are losing 74.5 team points from seniors. I think it would hurt their momentum a lot but it could be the best thing for the long run.

157: Teague Travis may come back up to 157. Robideau or Routledge could do well, but I think RS would be wise.

165: Lockett seems like a lock here. He's called his shot already.

174: May be the biggest hole. Incoming transfer maybe?

184: Brayden Thompson is probably the guy assuming he's continued developing.

197: Cody Merrill.

HWT: Doucet is serviceable if he chooses to return for a final year.

Overall, I think it will be a down year for the team, unless there are some portal guys beating down the door to get in. And there just might be after seeing what the previous crop just did.

I gotta think Facundo and/or Sealey are candidates for that 174 spot

133 and 141 are also holes they need to fill.  I know Cael Hughes will be slotted in at 141 but if he couldn't beat Witcraft this year even if he was sucking weight I have real reservations about what he is capable of, which is kinda surprising because he was such a big recruit and 4x state champ

How about Nassir Bailey at 133 coming off a disappointing NCAA tournament.....

I will be very disappointed if Thompson and Doucet are starters.  We need to keep pushing for guys who go out and score a ton of points like Hamiti and Hendrickson, obviously they won't all be that good but they can't settle for guys like Thompson and Doucet who settle for 3-2 type of wins anymore IMO

Jamison is at 141.  There are far bigger holes.

I will NOT sit through another season of Konner Doucet matches! I won't do it. Plus, I watched him walk across the mat on Senior Day.

I think Bailey has bi-lateral hand issues. Someone stated he literally cannot close them. If he has surgery or gives them time to heel, I hope we see him back to where he was. I haven't seen him without his hands wrapped since he was in HS. I was not aware Hughes did not go because he could not beat whitcraft I assumed it was concerns about him being able to make weight multiple days in a row. He did have wins over 3 national qualifiers including Fugitt and Spidle who both had very good NCAA tournaments. I am also very bullish on sakomoto after a full off season wrestling folk and time to grow into 133 unless he wants to stay light for international comp. JJ mccomas was a big recruit as well, but I think he could have similar weight issues at 133 that Hughes had. Assuming Jamison goes up and Travis does their only glaring hole will be 174.

What are the potential portal options at heavyweight?  Trumble maybe? Lucas Cochran?

Wouldn't be surprised to see him back, but at 97.

They have Merrill who beat Salazar and lost 2-0 to Buchanon while RSing his true freshman year.  They have no room and no need for Carrol at 197.

I wouldn't rule Merrill out at 184, He's not a big 97 by any means. He did certify for 184 this year, don't know how hard it would be to hold the weight all year though. As far as Carroll goes he didn't have a good showing at Iowa st, but he had some things going on. He's a good kid,I wouldn't mind seeing him come back and give it a go again.
