If all goes well, our 2 astronauts, Butch and Suni will splash down tomorrow at 5:16 PM tomorrow. Good news.

So, is it safe to say that it is a good thing these astronauts are back on earth??  Yes!  And is it safe to say thank you to Elon Musk and SpaceX helping make that happen??  Yes!

Yes.  I’m just stating that’s been the plan all along, Trump/Musk didn’t really speed it up by more than maybe a week.

The Starliner, which is the one that had the issues that caused the delay in the first place.

This is true.   But the Starliner got back to earth safely, the astronauts would have been fine.   That is something I never hear in the media.   Starliner make it back to earth safely.   Butch and Suni could have been home 9 months ago.   There were some issues with a helium leak and some thrusters but it was determinedd that this should not affect safe return to earth.   But NASA chose not to return the astronauts out of "an abundance of caution".   That was probably the right move.    But Starliner was deemed safe and ultimately was safe.   We never hear that.

Key words "out of an abundance of caution". Butch Wilmore also spoke out (while on the Space Station) about believing what Elon Musk said about Joe Biden declining to rescue them. Wilmore said he trusts Musk. (New York Post) Quote.

They are back and that is what is important.   I was concerned they would be stuck up there for a long time.   I'm glad they are home safe.

In the same interview he specifically said it was not for political reasons.

It is an important and popular fact that things are not always what they seem. For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much – the wheel, New York, wars, and so on – whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man – for precisely the same reasons.

Curiously enough, the dolphins had long known of the impending destruction of the planet Earth and had made many attempts to alert mankind to the danger; but most of their communications were misinterpreted as amusing attempts to punch footballs or whistle for titbits, so they eventually gave up and left the Earth by their own means shortly before the Vogons arrived.

The last ever dolphin message was misinterpreted as a surprisingly sophisticated attempt to do a double-backwards-somersault through a hoop whilst whistling the ‘Star-Spangled Banner’, but in fact the message was this: So Long, and thanks for all the fish.

In fact there was only one species on the planet more intelligent than dolphins, and they spent a lot of their time in behavioral-research laboratories running round inside wheels and conducting frighteningly elegant and subtle experiments on man. The fact that once again man completely misinterpreted this relationship was entirely according to these creatures’ plans.

While they are cute and do amusing tricks, they are a pain in the #$@ when blue water fishing...
