Some of these reviews are literally taking 25 minutes in real time, totally altering the momentum of the match and making conditioning of the wrestlers a non-factor.

Why not impose a cap of 2 minutes tops for refs to view footage and unless they can make a decision the call stands as called on the mat?

Even worse is when you get back to back challenges of the same sequence, which results in an absurd 40 minute delay...

Honestly I like the international style reviews. Usually takes 30 seconds to review it twice, then a simple explanation and move on. These marathon reviews are ridiculous and I don't feel like they really get calls right by taking more time anyway.

Hell, I would say 60 seconds max and maybe even 30. And add in the freestyle dynamic. If you lose the challenge it is a point for the opponent. So many of these challenges are "just because I can" challenges.

JC - valid points, why not send this message to those who make decisions in the sport. Coaches should get together and back this too. Putting. It out here gets it nowhere.

And another thing that was bad at the Bigs - video review WAS NOT done at the refs table next to the mat, it was reviewed by mystery refs outside the competition floor.  This added to the time required and you miss the two refs looking together and helping each other make a decision.

I found those guys. Mystery solved. They were in the building next to Welsh-Ryan. Sitting in front of a big picture window. It looked like mission control with the set up they had. If you turned the wrong way out of the building, you ran smack dab into them.

Another thing I found annoying was when the officials would stop it and do their own review. Make a decision about their previously made decision. Then turn to the coach who it went against and ask them if they wanted to challenge the decision about the decision. That would then kick it to the mystery man in that other building to make a decision about the decision about the decision.

A process only a bureaucrat could love.

Do away entirely with video review.  The product was much better without it, old timers will agree.

I am at this point with review in all sports. Get rid of it for wrestling, football, etc.

I have made this point before but I will make it again. There should never be a referee initiated review. It seems like half of the reviews that occur are the referees reviewing their own calls. If it is a close call and the coach wants to challenge, throw the brick. If not, lets keep it moving. Make the call on the mat and stick with it.
