When’s the last time someone had a 100% bonus at the end of a regular season? I can’t remember anyone doing that in the last decade. The fact that not one but two wrestlers this year hit that mark tells me it’s a consequence of the 3 point take down (and maybe limited schedules too). Still incredibly impressive.

What’s the highest bonus % after NCAAs in the wrestlestat era? Low 90s?

Spencer did it a few years ago, and missed having 100% bonus in the regular and postseason if he didn't beat Brandon Courtney by "just" 7-0 in the NCAA finals. I think Taylor may have also, but that might have been just beyond the last decade.

There are probably others who would've had 100% bonus had they competed in the 3pt takedown era. Nolf and Stieber come to mind.

I love the pinfall leaders.

  • Do not draw Kelvin Griffin in a tournament. Every last one of his 18 pinfalls came in tournaments. Ben Askren would be proud.
  • Daulton Mayer has felled by pin 15 times and been felled by pin 4 times. Shouldn't he be the leader?
  • WS thinks Max Leete is on his redhsirt (ditto for Elias Navida), but he still wrestled 34 times this year.
  • Carter Nogle OWNS Cleveland State. He pinned three of their 141s on the same day.

Addition by subtraction...

Didn't see the need for a new thread when you had something similar going on. Hope you didn't mind the, "piggyback." Cheers...✌️

I just started the thread. I feel no sense of ownership.

89.9% still higher than all but four wrestlers against any competition.

For the guys want to stick to this "oh, he can't do it against the top guys" narrative, that has not been the case this year. His only non-bonus was against a guy who spent a disproportionate amount of time out of bounds.

It turns out that it takes two to tango.

Edit: If you limit it to just top 50 wrestlers, Starocci is 8 for 9, or 89.9% (as mentioned above). That drops him down to......well, it does not drop him down. He is still third on the list.

But what if we limit it to top 33 guys, likely tournament qualifiers, well at 83.3% (5 of 6) he drops to....again, he does not drop. Still third.

please just make the gd data say he stalls so people can confirm their bias.

TBD
