Maybe I am in the minority but I was not shocked at all that the guys going down in weight wouldn't look as good in early December in their first few competitions at a new weight class.

Both Pinto and Allred have a higher bonus percentage this year compared to last year so they have been more dominate.

Having said that, Allred/Pinto may have been properly rated but Arnold and Kennedy were probably over rated.   Kennedy's best win of the year is #13 Danny Wask and #30 Braunagel according to wrestletat.  Arnold has now wrestled 4 guys in the top 20 on wrestlestat and has 1 takedown in regulation.

I think in hindsight, most would agree with the cut.

That said, their numbers are rather bloated and bonus will go down drastically after B1Gs and NCAAs.

Allred was 20W-5L with a 60% bonus rate prior to the postseason last year and finished at 52% and a 26W-8L record.  Pinto was 19W-3L with a 37% bonus prior to the postseason last year and finished with 30% and 24W-6L record.  I know their current bonus rates are still higher this year than last, but there are other things to consider as well, including graduation of last years wrestlers, natural improvement, etc.

So you've got Arnold at 3rd, 4th or 5th.  I've got everything else.

Sig or avatar for 1 month?

For bet purposes I would wager Arnold places no lower than 5th.  You can have 6th to DNP.  Either sig or avatar, you pick.

I am good with that.  Let's just pick the sig or avatar after result.

Good point on the bonus percentage coming down as they face better competition.  Untimely, we will find out in March if either guy can improve on their Rd 12 finishes.

Whether you think it was a good decision or bad for Pinto and Allred to cut down, I like that they made the decision in the off season and allowed their body a full season to acclimate.   I personally hate when guys go up or down midseason.

Oh no no no.  We're here to watch @Jimmy Cinnabon yet again welch on the bet.  Not to watch him actually honor it.  It's part of the mythos

We are in agreement on the timing.

Also, Pinto, while a physical beast, was rumored before last season to make the drop, too.  I don't think he was heavy for 184lbs.

They might have used last season and Wilson's less-than-stellar season at 174lbs as the determination to make the drop.  I.e. Pinto was headed down either way and it was Allred to 184 or a hole at 184.

If DNP = does not place sure.  If somehow he doesn't even participate at all...

Ok are we doing this?  You've got 1st to 5th.  I've got everything else 6th down to DNP.  If he doesn't qualify out of b10 then he doesn't place (DNP) at NCAA, thats just part of the bet.

He is trying to weasel his way out on the chance that Focus Jr starts instead.
