Before tonight many Iowa fans were calling for replacing Tommy B. Now that they landed the next Spencer Lee does this mean Brands can stay for a few more years as HC?

Does this impact Spencer taking over as HC for the Hawkeyes?  If the timing is right I could see a program like Rutgers making him an offer he can’t refuse.

Does Spencer Lee have the mentality to be a head coach? Love his wrestling, but half of his interviews are spent on him whining about people talking crap on social media.

I heard a strong rumor.  They gave the whole university to Bo.   Unconfirmed but it’s now maybe called the Iowa bassets.    Time will tell.

With the adversity he's gone thru, I can't think of a better head coach candidate.

Gable 2.0.

Well I hope he at least let's his Hawkeye wrestlers touch their 3rd and 4th place trophies before he slams them into the trash can. "third place ***ducking** sucks!"

The next Lee? Easy now.

I can't imagine Spencer Lee becoming a HC until he finishes his Sr level career, I guarantee he's not content with one silver medal

Ideal scenario for Iowa:

Bassett freshman for 2027 season

Spencer wins gold in 2028 then retires from competing, joins staff as an assistant for 2029 season

Spencer becomes HC for Bassett’s senior year in 2030, barring any redshirts or NCAA adding years of eligibility.

The Brands brothers turn 57 in a couple months, retiring in the next five years or so certainly seems likely, although if somehow Bassett has a chance for four titles, I doubt they would leave before he graduates

He will teach Basset a valuable lesson: "don't have your mom wear glasses to the NCAA Tournament".

” Never attribute to inspiration that which can be adequately explained by delusion”.

I feel like with the influx of talent Bo is going to bring the Brands bought themselves at least another 5-7 years.

I don’t think the Brands brothers are (or were even if Bassett didn’t commit) going anywhere unless they choose to.  Which IMO might have been in around 5-7 years anyway.
