It will tank either way with the wingers and musk in charge. I'd rather have it happen NOW so we can vote these clowns out and save ourselves long term.

Nor does that.

There were several posts where I admitted that he contributed to post covid money printing. Don't have time to go dig them up for you. I also Mads it clear, however, that diaper Donald initiated that money printing and biden continued it.

Another winger lie on existing Canadian tariffs. Where do you get your b.s., from fix news again?

Overall, Canadian tariffs on u.s. goods are very low, averaging about 3%. The one you quota for milk, for example, is only for an amount over a specific quota. The base is around 7%.

So 25% is WAY more than what they were doing to us but they should jack it up to 270% now.

look at page 3-4 for dairy and poultry.

Q: What are the current tariffs that Canada charges the U.S. (Before Trump)

A: Before the recent changes announced by President Trump on February 1, 2025, Canada had the following tariffs in place on various U.S. goods:

Dairy Products: Tariffs included:
270% on milk, 245% on cheese, & 298% on butter

Poultry: Canada applied a 238% tariff on poultry

Steel & Aluminum: Canada retaliated against U.S. tariffs on steel and aluminum with 25% duties on these items, which were initially imposed by the U.S. in 2018.

Consumer Goods: Other tariffs included:
Cars: 25%
Steel: 25%
Aluminum: 45%
Copper: 48%
HVAC equipment: 45%
Vacuums: 35%
Cable boxes: 35%
TVs: 45%

These tariffs were part of Canada's response to U.S. trade policies and were in effect for some time before the latest escalation announced by President Trump

See my link. That's a complete lie, just like everything from the wingers. Go to an objective source rather than fox

What is the disconnect here?  The articles from trusted sources show the high tariffs after a small quota is reached.

Gaslighting does not work here.

You're the one lying, or completely misrepresenting at best. The article I posted demonstrates that the overall tariffs, on average, are much lower than 25%. This is because the higher tariffs are only on very select products and only after quotas are reached. They simply don't want their markets flooded. Very reasonable, and a good way to keep prices stable.

Canada charges high tariffs for dairy imports above quota.  You can't misrepresent this.  Averages lie.

I agree both with Canada's reasoning and agree with America.

The average is the most important number because it demonstrates that the higher % applies to only a small portion of the milk. Cherry picking the highest possible rate and then even lying about that is complete dishonesty. That's par for the course for the wingers though. Not surprised one bit.

The high Canadian tariffs on dairy imports are designed to be prohibitive, making the market significantly limited for American dairy farmers despite some access within quota limits.

The tariff is already working.  Let's revisit your first statement.  Why do you want Canada to raise the (average) tariff to 100%, when the current tariff has already greatly restricted American market access?

The quota is low!  Canada allows U.S. dairy products access to about 3.5% of its dairy market.
