No. I would say the environment and philosophy around the Penn State program are bringing out the best in more wrestlers than anywhere else. Mesenbrink is an example of that.

If anything Mesenbrink has regressed at PSU. He had nothing but pinfalls at Cal Baptist

Looks like Michael Beard may be entering the race as well.  He has 10 techs (+ 1 pin).  Ramos has 12 (+1 pin), and Mesenbrink has 13 techs but no pins.  Probably worth noting that Mesenbrink has received 2 forfeits in duals so missed out on an opportunity for more techs there.  Can’t imagine PSU has had anyone receive multiple dual forfeits in recent years (especially at a middleweight).  Both of these occurred at the Rokfin thing.

Beard wrestles a dog *I poop my pants, don't laugh at me* schedule so it’s really irrelevant/considerably less impressive. At least Ramos and MM are doing it against B1G opponents.

“Only” 3 of Ramos’s techs are against B10 opponents, with 2 of those being rated over #100 by wrestlestat and the other from Northwestern.

Very interesting, messinbrink and Ramos both added another tech Friday evening.
