Movie also made McD and Brands look like John Lawrence and the Cobra Kai sensei.

But I was told Johnny was the hero of that story. That punk Jersey kid Daniel tried to steal his girl and should have been called for an illegally kick to the face during the All-Valley finals. Barney Stinson gets it.

I thought DiJulius as McD was fine.  I was not a fan of the guy playing Brands but it was such a small part of the movie.

I do kinda agree though that some of the things they changed probably didn’t really add much to the movie.  If anything some of them detracted from it, like where they ripped off the Rudy movie by having guys give up their scholarships which I assume didn’t actually happen.  My wife actually asked a question that might’ve added a cool twist.  They should have had McD be the guy in the beginning who gets the scholarship to Iowa after Senior Nationals or whatever that high school tournament was

The guy who made the movie couldn't find actors short enough to play those guys!!

ahh ... but he died and they never got to ask him about the afterlife hence why the ending wasn't really complete?  Or is that what G II is about?

Well, no.  The last we see of Maximus he was on his way to that fine wife of his.  They cut the story there because it would have been inappropriate to show what his afterlife was all about.  Plus, that is a private moment.

Also, when do we get the Wicked version of Unstoppable?  What's his perspective?

Like a prequel or a musical version?

I was honestly surprised they didn’t show much about Robles’ early years in wrestling.  They basically started when he was a HS national champion.  Showing him lose every match or whatever in his first year wrestling might’ve added to the story IMO.

I think my biggest issue with the movie is that they say ASU dropped the program his soph year and don't bring it back til the end of his jr year. Then when they do come back he almost kicked off the team til they rally together Rudy style.

The program was cut for 10 days. He was one match from AA his freshman year. Then AA'd his soph year (the entire year they cut out of the movie). He wouldn't have been in any danger of being cut going into his jr year.

Oh and also how the Tom Brands actor didn't even try to act like Tom Brands.

A musical version would be fire.  Who do you cast for Matt Mcdonough and the Brands Brothers?

Tom cruise could play Tom Brands 100%

Are you sure Tom can dumb himself down enough to play the other Tom?

J'Den is a talented singer, plus he's not a bad guitar player either.

This is the only part those two goofballs would be able to pull off. Come to think of it, that looks more like 2 Caels and a Mesenbrink!

LOL...true.

From what I hear Cruise benefits greatly from his membership in the cult. Supposedly he gets free cult labor to mow his lawn, clean his pool, etc.  That's in addition to all the powers he acquired from getting rid of all the alien spirits that used to inhabit his body. Now he can teleport himself, use telekinesis, predict the future, turn invisible, etc.

Want another shocker....Rudy isn't historically accurate either.

Joe Montana said no one liked Rudy, and he was a Butthole. 1/2 the stuff in the movie never happened, like the jerseys on DeVine's desk. They also carried him off the field as a joke.

I'm glad they had the correct leg missing though. Good movie

This thread is pointing out the inaccuracy not things are spot on! A+ casing.🤣

I haven't seen the movie but as mentioned this is common in all "based on a true story" movies and I was surprised the list was so short.

That's not what Montana said. A reporter asked Montana about Rudy and Montana had no idea who he was talking about.
