He should be the next coach at Wisconsin.

Taylor and OSU treated him wrong.

I don't know how Taylor could be blamed for anything. Coleman has a right to a grudge against OSU though since he was the unofficial coach in waiting.

I'd love to see Scott get the job at Wisconsin. The Badgers deserve better than they have right now.  Badger fans would be yoked over it.

Being the most likely candidate does not mean earning the job.  I like Scott, but I feel like it's a little bit of entitlement mentality to say he should have been given it because of XYZ.  We can put ourselves in the best position to succeed, but it does not entitle us to success (in my opinion).  I'm rooting for him, but I'm not sure that he was necessarily wronged by anyone.

I think traditionally the assistant head coach is considered, at least, a very strong favorite as a potential new HC if the old coach retires or takes another position. Scott had reason to think he was that guy, and I think it was implied that he would be the next guy. On the other hand OSU has a right to do whatever they think is necessary and John Smith retiring opened up a tremendous opportunity to land David Taylor. Taylor has done a great job and I don't think there's any doubt OSU is a lot better than they'd have been if Smith had hung around or if they'd hired Scott. They got several elite transfers they'd have never gotten otherwise.

Still, I think Scott will probably get a HC job somewhere else. He's already shown how good he was before.

If I had to guess, and I'd have to guess, I'd say Myron Wodewick. Sorry, couldn't resist. Myron Roderick, maybe Tom Chesbro? Maybe John Smith?

Roderick and Smith came straight from international Olympic competition.  I don't remember on Chesbro but don't believe he was an assistant.  Want to try again?

True, their last 2 hires had zero NCAA coaching experience.   Maybe they’re onto something here…

I'd say they might've been on to something if they'd been winning NCAA titles all those years.

The transfers all (with maybe the exception of Amine) committed to OSU well before Taylor was hired. You're just talking out of your ___
