Was hoping Seltzer would get a shot at being the starter at 149. Big holes at 33,49,57 and 65 until Cam comes back. Interesting they are doing extra matches tonight, not sure what that’s all about.

Didn't he have a shot and he lost it in wrestle-offs? Wouldn't you rather McCallister over him (since he beat him)?

I’d be fine with either, Zeke or Carter. Maybe even Pullium. We’ve seen what Gioffre can do, maybe some new blood can get things going.

I thought it looked like a takedown as well. Voelker looked at least one, if not two, weight classes bigger than Sinclair and was pushing him all over the mat.

If I had a guess, Aeoden will be at 184 next year. A year in both the wrestling and weight room will do him great. Hawks moves to 197 in this scenario.

He's got a legit shot at winning 4 Titles IMO. In fact, if he's at '74/'84, I'm already calling him at the '25-'26 winner.

He's so good...but he's also never really cut and while I love the philosophy in general...'97 pounders are just a bit too long for him. If he went to most schools, without knowing exactly, but I'd guess he'd be a potential '74.

I could see 174, I just thought most AWA kids don’t cut a lot of weight. I could be wrong about that, but KOT, Mocco and Whiting didn’t cut weight, Ben and Max along with others didn’t either. Lots of time from now to then, a lot could happen. If Sinclair did go 174, Hawks stays 184, no clue who takes over 197. Best possible lineup atm for next year I could see is

walker

mendoza

Edmond, although he could move up to 149

149 could be one of several

Colin Rath

Sneed

174?

184 Aeoden

Hawks

Stillwell

I’ve learned my lesson on saying what I think will happen on the mat in the future when I said I didn’t think O’Toole would lose another match in college, only to promptly lose to Carr.  So, I will say zero about Sinclair.  No more whammies from me

It certainly seems to be the case. I'm pretty sure he had to TRY to make an effort to get up over 195 last year in HS so he could wrestle 220 and just so he didn't have to Wrestle Mirasola in the Finals(we all know they wrestled on other occasions).

I'd guess 174 is not part of his future, but he's like...5'8? I think most guys with his build would be '74 pounders.

Has to make the spot a lot more fun when you don't have to cut much and you can go out there and lift and feel good all season long.

Eh, it's a prediction. I may be wrong. I have been before, I'll be wrong again.

I did the same with Haines and Mesenbrink a year out(so I guess...chances are Sinclair will be runner-up next year).

I thought O'Toole would win it last year, then he lost to Carr. Then over the summer he got beat by Haines in a way that I can't un see. This reminds me that nothing is written in stone. You can climb the mountain or fall off of it every time out.

Would like to see Logan Cole squeeze in there somewhere, but definitely a bright future with these incoming guys!

On Sinclair…and I’m dumb when it comes to world/oly weights…but does 74/84 put him in a better place for international competition than staying up at 197?

Internationally...I guess I'd say '84 is probably the best weight for him. 86KG is ~189...so 197 is between 86 and 97. 92KG is closest to 197, but I am guessing that Sinclair is looking at the Olympic weights(I'd guess the same of Barr, Ryder, Arnold, Ferrari...anyone on that level).

Just given his size as it stands today, him cutting to 74KG or ~163 is probably what a lot of guys with Olympic aspirations would do, but he's shown repeatedly, he's not going to make the sport miserable and cut a lot of weight(it's actually a great trend in the sport and I think makes for a better product and better Wrestlers in the long run). That may change as he climbs levels and it's not so easy for him, but I would guess 184, and he wrestles 86KG down the road.

Agree 100% on the trend of no or little cutting. I hope it sticks and commend the Askren’s for pushing that. But, to your point, the higher you go, the more of an advantage you need.
