In the lead up to the all star Carter made a reference to the amount of NCAA champs he has beaten. I was trying to list them out. I think it’s something like this:

Folkstyle:

-Keck

-Lewis (multiple)

-Griffin

Freestyle (some fft, some consolation at WTT):

-Cenzo (fft)

-Dieringer

-Nolf

-Martinez (fft)

Am I missing anyone here? My apologies in advance if it’s already been discussed.

Few notes.  The whole 5th season really is stupid and complicated metrics like this.  In a sane world he doesn’t get to wrestle keck at all.

freestyle should not count imo but I see how some think it will/does.  With that said several are fit/mff which I assume even the psu faithful agree don’t count.

I posted a vid of his clip in the other threat.  It’s near the top around the ~14 min mark …. It’s a flo interview.  If it were politics we would gripe why did the interviewer ask a follow up because clearly he is not accurate here.

thanks, not sure I'd include the forfeits.

Is including 5th year keck fair?   Almost no one gets to sport a 25% boost in full active seasons?

I think its fair to include freestyle so not sure why i wouldn't allow covid cronies.

Fair… everyone is entitled to an opinion.   Think Cstar thinks he’s beaten more ncaa champs than Burroughs or dake or the old mt Rushmore guard?

Smith brands Taylor Lewboo cael others etc?  Did Aaron brooks or nolf or Zain beat more ncaa champs than Cstar?

I find his comment bizarre, arrogant, and out of touch fwiw.   But it’s also not a stretch that I’m not the president of his fan club either.

I'm totally with you his comment was bizarre and arrogant...and the last one people don't often point out, he ain't much smarter than ferrari.

And do the PSU fanbases credit, I don't think he has a fan club in the sense that there is a mob of people saying everything about him is great, more like a group of people who give credit where its due and ignores other stuff, which is a fans prerogative.

The best example of what I'll call "the starocci problem" is playing out right now. He went out after splitting his head open and wrestled in the dual today, thats pretty awesome cause it wasn't really necessary, but I don't feel compelled to point it out because I'm pretty sure he will next chance he gets.

Agreed. Cstar and Levi...💪

Good for them going.

but It’s a small shame that people get an emoji going two nights in a row….. used to be so so common.

i'm with you but when I'm at a crossroads between pointing out some small but laudable or refusing to say something out of my lament for it not being expected I think the former is more helpful.

i should point out that I just watched the interview he did last night after the match and thought it was quite good.

I mean.  How much sense do you have to not have saying you bear more ncaa peeps than anytime.  While sitting in ear shot of people that have bear more lol.

I would guess that Carter is just referring to the fact that he beat two former NCAA champs en route to his title last year.

Here is a rough typed quote from his interview.   Ir doesn’t sound like he is referring to a nuance in a specific bracket   Its a 20 min interview so he has all the time in the world to make sense:

Can keck beat you ……. Actually no …..

“I mean.  He only won one ncaa title in the last 15 years…. I mean I did that when I was a teenager.     You know so … um….i mean this is nothing new to me.  I have been taking out ncaa champs since … you know.  There isn’t any other wrestler that has taken out as many ncaa champs as I have over my career….”

saying he thought about it that much is giving him too much credit.

One of the first things Cstar said when asked can keck beat you was….

man he’s only won one ncaa title in the last 15 years.   It’s in the video clip on flow.

What did that mean?

Recently I've been clear on thinking he's an egotistical imbecile, not sure what the point we're trying to clarify is.

True, but back when going two nights in row was common, emojis weren't even around.    Maybe its the emoji's that made these kids soft.  Learning cursive made us tough, dammit😀🤣

It means that Starocci has been wrestling in NCAA finals for 15 years, even longer than his archrival Dr. Kemerererer
