I don't think he's important enough to PSU to be scolded.

I mean obviously it wasn’t someone from the staff, but my guess is he gets some of his info from the wrestlers themselves or parents that talk too much.

I believe I saw someone mentioned an interview where Cody Sanderson said “there were no wrestleoffs,” but that could be just semantics in that they didn’t call it a wrestleoff.

Minnow’s posts definitely deserve skepticism and he often doesn’t have the full story, but I do feel like most of the time when he is wrong is when he does the “I’m hearing” thing.  He seemed pretty definitive in the comments about the wrestleoffs.

He may have access to some loose-lipped parents.  We know that there was a similar situation over at Iowa.  I do think that the guppy gets a lot of info just from perusal of message boards.

I agree he does that too, don’t believe it was the case here.  I do see a thread on BWI or whatever they’re calling it these days about “wrestleoff rumors,” not sure but it appears to be based off Minnow’s tweet(s).  He actually posted in the thread saying Beau Bartlett supposedly asked him to take them down

Didn't he break the news of Bartlett's signing with PSU before it was common knowledge.  Wasn't BB committed to Princeton at the time?  Or am I thinking of someone else?

Don’t remember, you may be right, I know he had done that with a couple commitments I believe, although I also think he has since stopped for the most part

We could get to see Kasak vs Facudno and Barr vs Cochran at the black knight this weekend. kasak and Beau hit last year there as well as evans and Kasak I believe. TB and MM also wrestled there so that could be a defacto wrestle off.

Last winter Minnow posted the tragic injury to Travis Witlake without talking to family or anyone else about it. It was literally before anyone knew anything because someone let him know. Coaches got in his ear real quick and he took it down.

I can actually think of a few things that would legitimately qualify for that.  For example - a slight labral tear in the shoulder - does not automatically require a surgery.  But depending on where the tear is, and how strong the muscles are around it, the person will feel a different impact.  You see it all the time in professional sports where they wait until the offseason to get an operation.  Certain things can be enough of a gray area, you could probably wrestle-off and get surgery if you lose.

are you injured or are you hurt?

Ah, didn’t see that one.  I saw he recently commented about Tom Ryan saying something to him about his comments about what tOSU supposedly offered Marcus Blaze.  Didn’t see the post but I heard someone say the claim was $2.4 million?

Mineo sucks...as a rule you should take EVERYTHING he claims with many grains of salt.

I do, but I feel like on average he generally ends up being somewhere around 70% accurate

Do you believe TR gave him a $ figure...:classic_dry:

He didn’t say the number came from TR, just that he scolded him for posting about it

Probably because people will believe that, and parents will expect their kids to at least get a decent fraction of that.

Well $500k was pretty much confirmed for Buchanan and Teemer, two guys with 1 year left that haven’t won a title, and Starocci claims to be making “a lot” more, so $2 million offered to Blaze wouldn’t shock me

Also $0.5M for Davino makes $2M for Blaze look reasonable.

Oh, I think he is worth it in comparison to what others got; I just doubt the team would want people aware of the numbers because kids will expect more during recruiting then.
