She is a joke.   Normally a press secretary is someone to not be contended with.   Karine is a joke.   Even Psaki was better than her.   You didn't mess with her.

in other countries its way more acceptable to harass the leaders and they are expected to be tough enough to take it. we've kind of devolved into thinking of the president as king, so of course they can trot out their whipping boy to lie on their behalf.

Oh, and did I mention she's exceptionally attractive?
