Scott Adams, the creative force behind the Dilbert comics, has laid out a thought-provoking analysis in a post on X that has gone mega-viral and maps out exactly how we got here, step-by-step.

Here’s what Scott said in his post:

I finally figured out what’s wrong with “everything.”

It’s a system problem. The introduction of Trump into the system(s) broke almost everything, and in multiple ways.

The fake news created a White Supremacist hysteria, which led to the Fine People Hoax and the George Floyd Hoax, which led to massive DEI, which led to massive systemic incompetence in all of our systems at once.

Add wokeness and cancelation and we can’t discuss the issue, much less fix it. That’s a system problem. The corrective mechanism (free speech) has been removed.

On top of that, the Trump experience has made it clear all of our government systems are corrupt. They probably always were, but as long as we didn’t notice, things limped along okay.

Now we notice.

Now we don’t accept “the science” we know is corrupt. We don’t accept the omnibus bills we know are corrupt. We don’t accept the foreign wars that look sketchy. We don’t accept elections we can’t fully audit. We don’t trust the news, for good reason. We don’t trust our intel services to not be agents of one party. And we see the justice departments weaponized.

While all that happened Soros found a way to take control of all American systems via funding of non-government entities and integrating them into the American systems.

But at the head of the snake is the fake news and fake science. There is no correcting mechanism.

The X platform is the only counterforce, and that’s why the crooks are trying to take it out, and Musk at the same time.

Trump certainly did open up some doors on the corruption in our government. It’s like he says “it’s you they’re after, I’m just in the way”

Cons:

He is a bully and creates most of his own problems which resulted in a lot of daily/weekly drama.

Pros:

He reduced border issues.

He was tough internationally seemingly keeping China & Russia in check.

As said by no fascist dictator, ever.

Pro's: He quickly pushed the changes in China policy developed by Matthew Pottinger and got them instituted early in his admin.  My wife is an exec in procurement for the Port Authority and we could see this impact first hand, with American manufacturing becoming instantly more competitive in her little sector of the world.

Con's: While he certainly did some things that were a positive impact, he did a number of other things that were much much more of a negative impact.  His America first, in my observations, is a bunch of BS and he has made an entire career as a life long criminal who has been real good at manipulating people into doing things he wants done, which is not a bad characteristic to have if you're going to use it for good, but a horrible combination if your whole purpose in life is self serving and you want to be leader of the free world.

Trying to get in on the grift while he can. He's a moron trying to perpetuate fear and hate that keeps him getting paid. Funny how that works. I wonder who else is doing that.

Pro - Generally  policies were good.   Immigration, Israel embassy to Jerusalem, Agreement with many middle eastern states and Israel, Getting NATO nations to pay more for their own security, promoted national oil extraction keeping prices down, did not squander the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, did not see rampant inflation,

Cons - Did not move quickly on border wall, did not clean out DOJ and FBI, did not drain the swamp or even get close, signed some bills that spent too much, I can't think of anything he could do different on the foreign front.   Gets in his own way, can't let a good policy happen without sabatoging himself.   I myself was tired of the drama.   I would rather someone else be the candidate.

Do you suppose I’m the only one who finds your “cons” at odds with your “pros?”  And at least partially driven by peripheral, inaccurate accounts that you constantly deride?  From Russian collusion to “Putin offered bounties and Trump didn’t do anything about it” as examples.  “Good people on both sides” as another.  Do you not realize that the forces promoting these narratives will not relax for a different Republican candidate.  Just refer back to the bashing of Bush, McCain, and Romney.  A lot of people appreciate that Trump fights back.

Cons:  he’s Donald Trump

Pros:  he’s not Joe Biden.  And the average American was both better off and safer when he was President vs now.

When Biden was President? Agreed.

Someone, not gonna name names, but someone tried to keep a cruise ship from docking so that early covid numbers wouldn't go up. I wonder who did that and why. Maybe because they are a petulant child-like person that is vindictive and dumb enough to think light would cure a virus.  Either on the body or some how inside the body. I wonder how those tests went, btw. Like his health care plan, that data is coming out soon and will revolutionize the industry. He did stare right into an eclipse and it probably hurt enough to think it could be used in a medical procedure. How far ahead was he on testicle tanning. Missed an opportunity to invest in that one. Your reluctance to realize that you've been took would be laughable if it wasn't so sad.

Cons: 45 is a joke and will crash and burn well before November and it will be delightful watching a one time politician, with no power or authority twist in the wind as he fights many criminal and civil charges.  Putting in danger the lives of every judge and staffer that has the temerity to work a case against him.

People are better off with Biden?   Have you read the polls?

Poll: 20-point deficit on handling economy highlights Biden’s struggles against Trump

The president’s approval rating has fallen to a new low in NBC News polling, as Trump narrowly leads in a 2024 general election matchup.

This poll has the leftists in a tizzy because it was produced by one of their own.

True, it may not age well.   But NBC is friendly territory and they couldn't craft questions well enough to avoid such a horrible response for Biden and good response for Trump.    Perhaps this is a manifestation of Ds trying to get Biden out of the campaign picture.

51% of investment goes to red states. By which every representative voted against the Inflation Reduction Act and CHIPS Act.

"We are going to steal billions of dollars (pushing it over a trillion with accumulated interest due to all of it being borrowed) from your children and grandchildren and give you 51% of the stolen money - most of which will go to the bluest cities and bluest people in your state.  How about colluding with us on this generational theft?"

Yeah, I don't know how red state representatives resisted the urge to take part in the larceny.
