Hunter Catka dec Ryan Catka 8-4

These guys are brothers wrestling against each other. How often does this happen?

Very rare I bet. Brothers wrestle, but in a collegiate sanctioned meet probably rare.

In the D3 national finals a couple years back two brothers wrestled

I had to wrestle my step- brother in a ranking match / interested dual. Yada yada 4 months later, my step dad was gone.

2002 EIWAs -- Andrew Roy of Rutgers wrestled his brother Dan, of East Stroudsburg, in the quarterfinals at 174.  Andrew won 3-2, tb, back when OT was just one 30-second rideout period.  It was rare enough that everyone in the stands around me was talking about it.

The EIWA survived ESU dropping out of Div I and Rutgers moving to the b1g.  I imagine it will survive the Ivies taking their money and going home.

Yeah, on a controversial call. If I were the ref, he woulda been awarded the 2. But what did Vito say . . . I had more numbers.

Wrestled my brother back in the day at a big (40 to 50 man bracket) tournament – a lot of things had to happen for us to meet, but we did.  He almost teched me.  Ended up seeing him in a dual the next year.  Our grandmother was there and he was nice enough to keep it to a low major decision that time.  He was the younger one.  The end.

If it makes you feel any better I had to drop AP calculus in high school because it was too difficult but my younger brother by two years remained in the class

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

It does a little bit, but I take solace in the fact I have a hotter and younger wife - lol.

Haha. Honestly, my dad is too gracious for that. He would think "Of course my blood won. Was there ever any doubt?" but would say "That was a hard fought match. Both boys really put it on the line."

I have seen a high school match where one wrestler was the half-brother (same father) of the mother of the other wrestler at the state tournament.  The wrestler were the same age.  So the uncle was wrestling his nephew.
