What was the reason for the team point deduction?

I couldn't tell but my guess is that it was due to the Brown coach walking onto the nat approaching the ref after he didn't like the way 125 ended

Damned Cornell wrestling alums!

(FWIW, Cornell beat Harvard 37-6, losing a regular decision and a major decision.  Yes, Harvard was also penalized a point for unsportsmanlike conduct (someone took a swing at a Cornell wrestler for that one))

Yeah, the Brown *assistant* coach walked onto the mat.  No bueno.

It happened at my high school in the 80s. Shut out a neighboring team and their heavyweight took a swing after his match and ours retaliated. Score was something along the lines of 52 to -1.

Good for Brown. -1 is so much more interesting than zero.

It did make THIS forum! 💥

Sounds like you went to Brandon HS

At least it didn't cost Brown the dual.  In 1999-2000, Army and Navy wrestled to a 16-16 draw.  I'm pretty certain one of the Army wrestlers threw a fit after his loss and cost his team a point.  How'd you have liked to be that wrestler on the ride back to the Point from Annapolis?

I was on a HS team that lost 75 - -1…but no swings, just a headgear throw
