Jimenez wins her semi-finals 7-4 over the Azeri.  She will face Japan's Umi Ito.  Ito hasn't seen the second period in three Techs today and has outscored opponents 33-2.  She beat Jimenez via 10-0 Tech at 2020 U20s for Gold.

It appears Howk is out at 55 KG as the Russo lost to her Indian opponent.

Ergo she will not be pulled back in to Repechage.

Moore is out at 59 KG.  Rankin lost via a quick 1M20S Tech to the Ukrainian.

Ergo she will not be pulled back in to Repechage.

Kennedy Blades punches her ticket to the U23 76 KG finals with a 28S 10-0 Tech over Lithuania.  Early signs point to her facing off against an Indian in Reetika Reetika.

Reetika lost to Skylar Grote at 72 KG via 4-0 Decision at the 2023 Zagreb earlier this year.  She also lost to Amit Elor at the 2022 U20 Worlds via 12-1 Tech at 72 KG.

It weren't no epic come-from-behind, mate.

1-1, 26S to go in the 1st.

4-3 at the break, in favor of the Moldovan.

TD with 1M45S to go in the 2nd for Hardy to go up 5-4.

Garbage last second TD with 1S remaining to win 7-4.

That IS true.

... but, still, he did come from behind. 😉

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

So this is how they are running the Medal matches, btw.

Mat A and Mat B both run the Bronze matches simultaneously.

Then Mat B runs the Gold match.  Mat B is in the center, so that is why.

That said... we are out at 57 KG... Hardy is up 2nd on Mat A, though.

Hardy is trailing at the break 4-2 due to the Georgian's 4 pt arm throw...

Hardy's second period to win 8-5 was as much fun as I've had watching an international match in a while.

Hardy gets both ankles and somehow the Georgian holds a quadpod and slips out, and Hardy loses the challenge. The Georgian gets a single leg and Hardy counters, they scramble for a while and Hardy comes out on top. Then it happens again for Hardy to go up 6-5. Incredible work, plus a final takedown of his own after the Georgian was gassed.

I'm at work and lunch was just ending when a parade of people came in wanting what D3 gots (information if their parts are good or not.)

JUST as all the action went down for Hardy in nabbing the bronze.

(I'll have ta get it on the rebound!)

We're not getting the medal ceremony today... no curvy/beefy ladies in black dresses w/ the awards on the pillows. ((I'm bummed!)

Disappointing outcome for Zapf... by the 9-2 variety.

Pretty sure he gave up the same move three times. Plus a gut on the first one.

The fact that the Azeri wasn’t put on the clock was surprising.

That Azeri ran the GAUNTLET today, man, before beating Zapf.  Three matches on the backside, 11-0, 10-2, 9-2.

Isn't Belarus also included w/ the AIN designation as well?

Their combined scoring does tip the scales a wee bit, no?

... unofficially, of course.
