From what I’ve seen they were doubling down on the ridiculous mental health facility claims.  The anonymous Twitter post from some guy claiming to be a lawyer was pretty funny and making the rounds - “well the facility only says he wasn’t a ‘patient,’ that doesn’t mean he never stayed there!”

October 3–8: His absence from in-person campaign events prompted questions from political opponents and online speculation about his whereabouts. His campaign attributed the absence to his illness.

October 9–11: He returned to public appearances and reiterated that he had been recovering from the flu at home in Austin. In an interview with NBC 5 Dallas–Fort Worth, he said he had visited his primary care physician and described the illness as a nasty case of the flu.
