He was a permanent resident (green card) of the United States, which is a requirement prior to being legally allowed to obtain citizenship. And the root cause of his assassination was because he exercised the first amendment right afforded to him as a permanent resident of the US.

Now, will RAF or anyone associated do something so dumb as to rock the Brinks truck? Of course not. But the flag humping boot licking associated with all things americana in today's culture goes directly against UAE/ Saudi Arabia/ etc.

Unfortunately you don't have the 1st amendment protections in Saudi Arabia or Turkey.  People need to realize this stuff when they travel abroad.

He in no way deserved anything that happened to him.  My point is more of a warning to people who think we have the Bill of Rights to protect us in terrible places.  I probably won't be travelling to the PRC any time soon for exactly those reasons.

I really don't think the UAE is going to dismember Willie while he's still alive and have a "barbecue party" afterwards due to his  S32 predictions.

Khamzat Chimaev to headline wrestling event as RAF signs five-year Abu Dhabi deal

Former UFC middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev will headline when Real American Freestyle (RAF) wrestling makes its debut in Abu Dhabi in November.

On Monday, the RAF announced a five-year partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and the UAE Wrestling Federation to bring RAF events to Abu Dhabi.

RAF Abu Dhabi marks the league’s third international event in its first year, following its international debut in Tbilisi, Georgia and Moscow, Russia, hosting a sold-out event in September.

“From day one, our ambition has been to bring RAF to the world’s great sports markets, and there is no better place for this next chapter than Abu Dhabi,” said Chad Bronstein, CEO and co-founder of RAF.

“Abu Dhabi is one of the premier destinations for combat sports, with the vision and infrastructure to deliver events that resonate globally. This five-year partnership gives us the opportunity to make RAF Abu Dhabi a signature event and build something meaningful for athletes, fans and the region for years to come.”

Sheikh Hamdan bin Saeed bin Tahnoon, secretary general of the UAE Wrestling Federation, said the partnership marks “an important step” in the continued growth of wrestling in the UAE.

“Bringing world-class athletes and international events to Abu Dhabi will not only strengthen the country’s position on the global wrestling stage, but also inspire the next generation of athletes and support the long-term development of the sport,” Sheikh Hamdan said.

Chimaev, better known to audiences for his performances in mixed martial arts that carried him to UFC middleweight title glory, has quickly emerged as one of RAF’s biggest stars, bringing dominant performances and an enormous global following to the league.

A naturalised UAE citizen who represents the country internationally, he will headline RAF’s Abu Dhabi debut in front of a home crowd at Etihad Arena on November 14.

RAF Abu Dhabi’s main event will be followed by a full card of Olympic champions, world champions, NCAA standouts and leading crossover athletes from wrestling and MMA.

Lumping two groups of non-whites together and implying they're both violent and murderous?

Mighty racist of you.

They are our allies against Iran and other bad actors.  They are already contributing to USA sports,   LIV was definitely Saudi "sports washing". Not sure this partnership is.

I took my post down. It's irrelevant...

Not too advanced.

She wants to be paid when she loses!

Don’t disagree with that. She’s pulling in views…. Money is important to have success in the long run. I think that’s where Aaron Pico took a wrong turn too quickly.

I mean, Pico was paid by Bellator when he was still in high school!  Additionally he had a Nike deal and a deal with an apparel company. There was no money to be made in college wrestling at that point.

He has had a a pretty good career and is still relatively young; it just hasn't gone the way many of us have hoped.  He wasn't supposed to lose several of those fights.
