Nothing like trying to make it harder for citizens exercising their constitutional right to vote... If polling places were treated like guns, there'd be one on every corner. For some reason the right to vote, especially in swing districts is under attack by the right.

If we hypothetically agreed with everything the right wants to do in terms of voter ID laws, why the need to close 92 polling places?

There's no trying about it. They are making it harder for certain people to vote.

Talarico has them really concerned. Texas hasn't had a Democratic senator since 1993.

I always find it funny when those on the right espouse constitutional rights and civilian responsibility and accountability and then simultaneously try to deny petiole of exercising said responsibility.

If we only had someone who was recently king for a day. the king simply could just have declared republicans are dictators in Perpetuity.   I was told orange man bad was going stop all figure elections after all during the campaign

closing polls that are barely attended in a random county is a much faster way to end democracy and prevent voting right?

im gonna bet the mean repubs are going to start pulling over black and brown people at polling stations because we all know they aren’t smart enough to get an ID…. They will all then be arrested and not be able to vote.

Tarrant county is not a random county.

More than 2 million people live in Tarrant county.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why this is the place that they're reducing polling locations.

So keep the empty polling places open?

There are still over 200 locations to cast ballots.   The article says the Ds are just concerned it might confuse people to closes polling locations.   Again, the Ds think the blacks and the browns and the women are so stupid that they will not be able to figure out where to cast their ballot.   Along with they are all too stupid to figure out how to get a state ID that would allow them to vote if voter ID were in place.   The Ds have such a low opinion and low esteem of the black, brown, and women folks that it is amazing any black, brown, or women still associate with it.

It's like the guy said about the USPS using a list of eligible voters to deliver mail in ballots,  they're not being disenfranchised,  they can simply go to their correct precinct, shuffle, or waddle,  past the ICE Agents,  show their ID, and vote.

Why do all these proposed changes only effect those who vote D??  If it was truly "voter suppression" wouldn't it impact all voters??

How is voter ID only impacting D voters in a negative way??  Not by screaming emotional talking points but in a calm mature fact based way.

Illegals have IDs.   D's made sure of that.

There are states where you don’t need one.  My home state of Minnesota is one of them.   You can also vouch for others to vote here.  Minnesota would be red if not for this.

The blue is all because of the metro area. And we all know who lives there.

This question should probably be directed at the Republicans behind these removals 🤣

Some examples that give a clear indication of their motivation:

State Rep. Chris Turner (D) blasted GOP county leaders for closing polls, particularly at the University of Texas at Arlington and Bethlehem Baptist Church.

“Stripping a major university of its polling site is not a neutral decision,” Turner said in a letter posted on social media. “It is a deliberate barrier placed in front of young voters, first-time voters, and voters who already face disproportionate obstacles to civic participation.”

“Equally unacceptable is the proposed elimination of Bethlehem Baptist Church, a site that opened in 2024 and has since become a model of community engagement,” Turner went on. “From 2024 to 2026, Bethlehem Baptist Church more than tripled its voter turnout, a clear sign that when communities are given accessible, trusted locations, they show up.”

This isn’t about voter ID, it’s about polling locations.  Removing the polling location from a college campus with over 40K students is clearly intended to reduce D turnout.

Of course not, but the majority usually do.

Take D & R out of it, don’t you think removing a polling location from a college campus with over 40k students is dumb?

Shocker, in areas with more people living there it leans democrat who would’ve thought.

Is there a place called the Texas union for voting that is literally on the west side of the university of Texas campus that is open for voting ?

and it’s still open lol
