Are you guys ok that this guy is still not reporting for duty let alone releasing video of himself to the American people? Doesn't this set the precedent that anyone in congress can just disappear without consequence?

There should be an amendment mandating an age limit for Senate, House and President.  It wasn't suppose to be a lifetime job.  And/or term limits but neither will ever pass.

A.  Need to born here just like for President.
B.  Minimum and maximum age limit.
C.  Term limits are 115% needed

If Democrats ran on a platform of term limits would you vote for them?

NOT at all.

They should remove him.

but again, it isn't new it has happened before on both sides.

Congress voting participation should be a more prominent/published  number. The median missed voting % for Congress is 2.1%. While Maxine Waters is over 3 times that at 6.7%.  This should not be allowed for anyone.

Btw there is already precedent.  It’s happened many times before.

The thing I always find interesting about we the people saying their should be term limits and max age, is that we the people have absolute authority to ensure no one is voted in if they’re too old or if they’ve served too many terms, but we choose not to.

Its easier to pass the responsibility onto, and then blame, ‘the government’

It’s not that easy.   The party machine ensures it to some extent.   To some extent you’re right.   Some wrong

It really is that easy. All it takes is for the electorate to think and act for themselves, instead of what they’re told to think.   For some that is easy.  For others….not so much.  At the end of the day, the ‘party machine’ doesn’t walk into the ballot box.  We the people do.

I agree with what Rasta is saying but the problem is it doesn't seem people vote in a way that it should work in terms of evaluating each candidate every cycle.  And on the flip side, while I in general support term limits the same problem may happen but I think you get more diversity of thought with new people every few years even if people continue to just vote down party lines.

That where the last sentence of my original post comes in.  To truly evaluate the candidates, in reflection to our individual values, takes some time, some effort, and some inner reflection. For too many, it’s just easier to pass the responsibility, and blame, to others.  Let ‘the party machine’ tell us who is best for us, and then vote in line.

i agree with rasta as well.

however, if one side splits it's vote... the other side always wins.

just think how bad things would be if that happened.

some states already feel it

Tis exactly how many people vote.   And the parties put out the candidates they want.    Gerrymandering is just as bad in hurting this problem as well

Well you will be settling this for eternity as the parties will not be changing anything regarding this situation

Candidates are the candidates.  Choices are limited.  I’ve written in candidates plenty of times.
