Watching some of these I feel like I’m listening to some righties who have made many of these same claims.  In before @Caveira claims he doesn’t know who Matt Walsh is.

And not only that, the Daily Wire which is a supposed protector of free speech has filed numerous YouTube copyright claims against actual historians reacting to the videos (which were dropped after appeal).

Just a few of the topics:

-Downplaying the impact of slavery as being the cause for the Civil War

-Implying indentured servitude was as bad as slavery

-Whatabouting to the fact that the slaves were sold by Africans

-Trashing Emmitt Till, MLK, and Abraham Lincoln

-Glazing Robert E Lee

There are many episodes in this series, and many videos reacting to it (some of the critical ones were even by fellow conservatives).  It also uses a lot of AI slop and often cites sources incorrectly. Here’s a small sample of some of the reactions explaining what he gets wrong.  A guy who I can only assume was a former wrestler did some as well.

I don’t know who  Matt Walsh is.  Quick glance though.   Should white Americans pay reparations or the Africans ?

who is more guilty   The drug dealer in America or the consumer ?

you admitted young Palestinians shouldn’t be penalized for their parents overwhelming vote for the terrorists  so by proxy you agree we should not pay reparations here

also statistically speaking the dudes who sold all the slaves we’re black dudes

The transatlantic slave trade relied heavily on these Black African rulers and brokers who controlled the coastal ports. They viewed the people they captured not as fellow "Africans" or "Black people"—as those modern concepts of racial identity did not exist to them—but rather as ethnic rivals, prisoners of war, or criminals from different kingdoms.

The African / Black Rulers and Kingdoms
Militarized African empires expanded their wealth by capturing people from neighboring rival groups and trading them at coastal ports. The primary Black African states heavily involved in supplying the transatlantic trade included:
  • The Kingdom of Dahomey (modern-day Benin)
  • The Oyo Empire (modern-day Nigeria)
  • The Ashanti Confederacy (modern-day Ghana)
  • The Kingdom of Kongo (modern-day Angola/DRC)
These rulers traded human captives to Europeans in exchange for manufactured goods, textiles, alcohol, and firearms, which they used to wage further wars and capture more people.

Like you, Matt Walsh relied way too much on AI…

We all know the blacks sold more slaves than the whites did.   You know it.  I know it.   We all know it.

the fact that The Google machine got me the words is completely irrelevant unless you can refute the point.  Which u can’t because it’s a fact.

we all also know this is a lame attempt to divert attention from the fake real women definitions the left are so afraid are crumbling.

Not surprised you want to whitewash history as well.  You don’t have to feel bad, you weren’t the one that owned slaves, even though you probably wish you could.

So you have some evidence whites were the ones who sold the blacks into slavery.  Do share

Also what is a woman?

But the dealer is more wrong.

will the African sellers pay reparations ?

if a muscle bound African slave man identified as a woman.  Would he be worth more money to the seller or no?   Be specific.

I know you won’t be answering tonight.  Your ideas didn’t hold a lot of water as of late.    So here is the question.

an super athletic African man.   Identifies as a lesbian woman back in those days.

if you are the black African seller how do you price this transaction?

a) trans nonsense is nonsense.   You’re a man I’ll charge whatever  I charge for a man.  No realistic human would believe a man can be a woman

or work with me

b) 2/3/4x what I charge for a man.   Hear me out here.   She can do all the work a man can do.   Given she is athletic maybe more work.  But as a possible pregnant person.   She can create more athletic people.   That seems valuable for generations.

Maybe the wnba could learn from this.

I think if you’re a creative sales person.  B is 100% what you should do.

what do you think here?

Triggered means for some reason you are upset that I’m pointing out that people were racist 160 years ago…

So do you pick price a or b.  So many questions you leave unanswered

also you still haven’t defined what a woman is.

I don't always agree with Matt but I do like his strong stances and desire for truth over feelings.

There are many lies our teachers tell us that we sus after school.  I choose to remember MLK as the hero and just ignore the personal life that contradicted the public persona.  We need heroes.  On the Civil War I read books that talked about State rights but I always thought duh... but that was the state right concerning slavery.  On Abe Lincoln I was taught he freed the slaves and later read a quote from him that made everything more complex... found it

Quote

"My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or to destroy slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that. What I do about slavery, and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save the Union... I have here stated my purpose according to my view of official duty; and I intend no modification of my oft-expressed personal wish that all men everywhere could be free.”

And just now while searching that quote of his indifference, found a quoted opinion on anti slavery...

Quote

“I am naturally anti-slavery. If slavery is not wrong, nothing is wrong. I can not remember when I
did not so think, and feel. And yet I have never understood that the Presidency conferred upon
me an unrestricted right to act officially upon this judgment and feeling. It was in the oath I took
that I would, to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United
States...
"

I understand that we need heroes but I disagree with these simplified saint versions.  Easter bunny is real, Santa Claus is real... but it's all dumb and breaks trust.  Give me the nuance at a young age.  Tell me that despite Abe's anti slavery view, he would have kept slavery to keep the union.  Let's discuss what he was wrestling with and why.  Let's discuss how MLK was pushing for marriage fidelity while breaking his vows... like he is imperfect like all of us, yet can still accomplish great things.

I haven't watched many of Matt's videos but I generally like practical stances, common sense stances, and the hard contexts / inconvenient facts.  Matt can selectively frame things and overstate things which is where I can find disagreement... while still appreciating his overall content that otherwise is unshared.

If you're asking if I think you are a racist that can't seem to come to terms with it and instead desperately clings to rightwing tactics and talking points so as to never actually answer a question for fear of admitting to being at best a huge bigot or at worst an ignorant huge bigot?

Yes.

You don't need to keep providing evidence of this. We have plenty to pull from. Which ironically enough is the only thing you really provide evidence for, unwittingly of course.

Sorry, unwittingly means you do it yourself but you probably don't mean to.

Anyway, thanks for looping me in on this. Happy to weigh in.

Just so we're clear, Cav, you are a racist POS.

Here, I'll add something you can relate to: "whaaaaa whaaaa, you didn't answer any of my questions... whaaaa whaaaaa!"

I agree with a lot of this. The nuance at a young age is tricky. Introduce it for sure and expound as they grow, sure. This could lead to uncomfortable conversations that boomers and Gen Xers avoided having with their kids. Conversations that this generation is now embracing because we know that kids with knowledge are better able to avoid getting abused. Teach them how to search, how to judge good information from bad.

But common sense is something I can't get behind. Unless you can walk me through how you got from A-B-C-D-E-F-the conclusion you're just asking us to trust you. Things can make sense to you in such a way as to be obvious. But like the telephone game, if you were just a bit mistaken about something early on in your reasoning then the conclusion could be miles off from being accurate or practical. And if that reasoning chain is used for multiple applications then you are existing in a world that you think works for you because you've made the necessary adjustments to maintain consistency but everyone else sees as completely different.

And we seek community. We seek comfort and safety in numbers and that goes for ideas too. People have weaponized that element of our nature. Either for financial comfort and safety or for the comfort and safety that comes with influence over a group of people. We need to constantly ask ourselves if the people we trust are trustworthy(Matt Walsh, in my opinion, is not). And once we find something that offers us comfort and safety its terribly difficult to change horses midstream(in for a penny in for a pound). Think of every story you've heard/read about someone escaping a cult. No longer having the safety of the group is terrifying. Or the fear that a person had when changing careers later in their life. The urge to maintain safety and comfort or avoid danger and pain is powerful.

But other than that. I agree.

Only because you can't do it. You recognize a losing battle. That's surprisingly mature of you.
I refute your claims because its easy and fun and I know it triggers you to no end.
Your claims are and have always been weak and without evidence.
I bring receipts that you can't refute or else you would. Instead of 'just asking questions' like your moron heroes, Rogan and Carlson.
Like them you are a racist and a bigot.
You can't say the same about me.
And I know that annoys the piss out of you.

And as always....
