When you compare numbers from the first 23, not including the last two years, to the 15 of Neumann, I just don't see much to support that claim. They are very similar on a per year comparison.

No they are not.   I guess you can keep saying it but it won't make it true.

Nebraska has finished in the top 10 in 10 of the last 11 NCAA championships held (and were #2 the year it was cancelled.    They finished in the top 10, 6 times total during Neumann's 15 year tenure.    Heck, Neumann's best season was the year Okie State couldn't compete so Purler transferred in.   They are really are not the same.

Don't get me wrong, Neumann elevated the program from where he got it but if you can see the difference from where it was to where it is now, then it speaks more about you than reality.

23 years (2001-2024) not including 2020 postseason

5 NC (.23 average per year)

77 - AA (inherited 4) 8 from 2020* so 69 (3.14 average AA per year)

Best ncaa finish 4th (average finish 7.38)

Top ten ncaa finishes 13 (59%)

1 conference championship

294 -107-3 (.73 win percentage)

2 losing seasons (8.7 percent)

15 seasons 1985-2000

4 NC (.27 average per year)

40 - AA (inherited 1) (2.67 AA average per year

Best ncaa finish 3rd (average finish 6.17)

Top ten ncaa finishes 6 (40%)

2 conference championships

199-77-6 (win percentage .71)

1 losing season (6.7 percent)

Here is the reality, Neumann is better in four of the categories, Manning in 3 when looked at per year.

You can’t bring facts into this.

Here is the reality, Neumann is better in four of the categories, Manning in 3 when looked at per year.

So if you exclude Manning's two best years,

- give no consideration for Nebraska being in the B1G 10 vs the Big 12 (helps create a conference championship category that isn't reflective of the better team)

-don't take strength of schedule into effect (I guess 60% of the Neumann's team that were outside of the top 10 could of avoided more losing seasons with a B1G schedule hypothetically) - In Manning's 2 losing seasons, they finished 8th and 12th at NCAAs while Nuemann has winning seasons when they finished outside of the top 20 multiple times ,but sure "category for Neumann".

-ignore the freestyle &  world team success and  ignore the benefit of are marketing appeal that coaching JB created,

- give no credit for the year over year consistency,

- Also, Neumann's average finish at NCAAs was 15.8  and Manning's was 10.4 (in the first 23 years) - Not sure how we are different on this category -

There really isn't much difference.

Manning's team finishing in the top 10 20% higher (still ignoring the consistency), have more AA's every year, and higher average finish at NCAAs.

Twist the numbers all you want.  Neumann's best team was the 1993 year that was weird one that he benefited from but unfortunately he could not build upon or maintain that success (because it was an outlier) and they only finished in the top 10, 2 of the next 6 years.  Take that year out and continue to ignore the last two and Neumann only finishes better in 2 of your self selected categories (winning the B12 twice and less losing seasons).

You could also add less favorable Neumann categories (worst NCAA finish (Neumann), multi-time national champions (Manning), most top 8 finishes (Manning had 7 in his first 23 years (9 now) compared to the 8 total in Nebraska's history before), finishes outside the top 20 (Neumann 3 times, Manning 0), but that wouldn't help your claim.

You are entitled to your own opinion and I am fine if we disagree, but you don't get your own facts.

Amazing how Manning really got a lot better once Tervel showed up...

Nebraska has great coaches no doubt Snyder, Green, and Tervel . Not to mention the guys that stick around for freestyle. Ridge, Robb, Smith, Cronan, and now Hardy! What a great room to be a part of!

Cronan the Barbarian? Do you even know who is on the team?

And Manning got way way better when Tervel showed up...

And tOSU hasn't been the same since he left.  Somehow an underrated coach.

Cronin. Is that better.

Your point?? A HC surrounds themselves with good assistants. So I guess you are giving Manning props for that as well...

No.  I like Cronan better.

Yes, Manning has done a great job by hiring better wrestling minds in Snyder and Dlagnev.  That is the sign of a good CEO.

Tervel is one of the best assistants out there, no doubt. Nebraska needs to do everything they can do keep him.

I’ve been to every home dual the last 3 years and it’s been a blast. Looking forward to continued success. GBR.

We can all spin and make it appear to favor our opinions. My opinion is that Manning took over a very good program and for the most part has been consistently good, probably a bit better as well but he's only in the last two years, when also taking from the portal, led Nebraska to elite level.i also think his assistant coaches have more to do with this than he does. The built not bought rhetoric is about 80% true and 20% b.s.

He wasn't nearly as consistent in the first half of his tenure, and hasn't always been in the Big Ten either.  He's a good coach, I don't care for him personally but to make it seem like he's done something amazing there is just not true.

To make it seem he hasnt done something amazing here isnt true..??? You arent around Lincoln much then. This is the most popular and best era the wrestling team has ever been in. Its not close. Fans would barely go to duals in the old coliseum to watch.  Now they are packing the devaney

Mark Manning addressed Ferrari....looks like some people who have a negative narrative about him just lost. Manning "loved him" " good guy" "misunderstood " - will get another year, doesn't know about two...and needs knee surgery.

Manning understood Ferrari but couldn't understand a financially struggling Donahoe? 🤔

Yeah, but he did understand open container laws, disorderly conduct laws and NCAA violations resulting in ineligibility.

That was not Manning's call.  It was the ADs.
