DEFANGING THE MULLAHS

Our military campaign against Iran has been a great success, whether or not it leads to the downfall of the mullahs’ regime. We have badly degraded Iran’s ability to threaten us or our allies, and some changes will be permanent. Thus, for example:

Iran’s only effective response to our bombardment has been its disruption of the Strait of Hormuz, but its ability to damage the world economy in that way will be gone forever if a new pipeline is built that runs from the Gulf states to the Mediterranean, terminating in…Israel. Moreover, ongoing economic cooperation between Israel and the Gulf states is another nail in the coffin of Palestinian Jihad, Hamas and Hezbollah.

Lots of good outcomes here, as with our virtually bloodless intervention in Venezuela.

yeah, that was funny, I heard it on the radio.   Just remember, these people vote.

On another note, a pipeline from Saudi to Israel would get bombed easily by whoever wants to do that.   Good idea in an ideal world.

Yeah, a missile could temporarily shut a pipeline down, but probably wouldn’t be near as dangerous, or as big a loss as blowing up and sinking a tanker.  What’s really remarkable is the Arabs and Israelis uniting to go into business to solve the problem.  That could lead to a major attitude change in the region.

seems like there’s gonna plenty of new consequences. Trump is saying we can’t afford to have medicare and Medicaid because we have wars to fight. House GOP already looking to where to cut healthcare to fund the $200 billion the has requested to continue this war. I remember America first was such a big point of his campaign but now we are Israel first. What a shame

Taking care of Israelis more important than taking care of Americans

Medicare and Medicaid are overwhelmed by fraud and childcare should not be paid for by the gov’t.  Parents and guardians get tax deductions for their dependents.  If the gov’t pays for raising kids they get the idea that they can tell you how to do it.

So because allegedly Medicare and Medicaid may contain fraud and should just axe it to pay for these new wars?

do you know how expensive child care is? Big factor of the birth decline in the us

That’s kinda ironic considering this admin is pushing for banning entire courses and studies, and telling parents how to raise their kids

The fraud should be eliminated regardless the war costs.

Look at the second post in this thread to see a bit of what’s happened to education in this country.

Just pointing out having our president who campaigned on no new wars and America First saying we can’t pay to take care of our own population and invest resources that will help our country isn’t the best look politically. Curious how mid terms will go

Come on braves...you don't think circumstances can change which may lead to having, or wanting to go to war with a country??  I have never wanted to get into fights growing up, but I still did when the situation warranted it...I didn't just walk away because I said I wouldn't get into fights.

With that being said, I disagree with this war...I don't like it and wish it would end very soon.  I too am curious how the mid-terms will go...I think both sides are not doing themselves any favors with voters.

Sure there are circumstances but it gets to a point with the Middle East. My dad served in Iraq for 2 tours. My brother is in the Carrier group en route from Japan. My friends have served in Afghanistan. A kid a year below me died during the Kabul pull out. I am sick and tired of America sending our fathers, brothers, friends, and sons to keep dying in the god forsaken Middle East

I'm not disagreeing with you in terms of the war being not good and the potential tragedy of losing service men and women (which I am glad that the US hasn't sent ground troops in)...and also agree that a war isn't going to change thousands of years of ideology overnight in the middle east.  But while I disagree with the war it doesn't sound like the objective was to change the ideology or Iran's culture, but one of the main objectives was to stop the ability to build nuclear weapons, which I do think is a very good thing.  Again, I am not defending the war.

Thank you to all your friends and family that served!  I have family and friends that have served as well and have the utmost respect for them.

Allegedly may contain. That's a good one. 37.39 and 56.0 billion in improper payments in Medicaid and a Medicare. That doesn't include the fraud. They estimate that the fraud is as high as 20 percent of the 1.3 trillion dollar budget. That is in addition to 93 billon in improper payments.

There's a montage somewhere Jon Stewart (Jew) put together of Netanyahu  saying for over 20 years that Iran has been a few weeks away from a nuclear weapon...

Bot to mention Trump launched missles at Iran last year and said they destroyed their ability to launch nuclear weapons. So was he lying then or lying now? This seems more like a distraction to me.

Trump admin now requesting $445 billion in military funding and cutting $73 billion in other services. So glad we have a president that is against new wars and is America first 🙂

Ahhh, the  dumb 'ol "I'll balance the budget by eliminating the fraud." If I had a dime for every time I heard that, I'd be a billionaire by now.

Meanwhile, these idiots fire staff that actually guard the purse strings (e.g. irs agents) so fraud increases.

Maybe they kept trying after the first bombing.

Washington will never balance the budget. There is no penalty for not balancing the budget. There is no incentive to balance. it. Why is it so trending to commit fraud in all the government programs. It looks like it is pretty easy and there is little chance you will get caught. It does add up to a great deal of taxpayer money.
